  • Patent number: 7066824
Abstract: The golf practice apparatus has a large target supported by two supports connected at diametrically opposed areas on the large target. For stability, the two supports are connected to one another by a cross member and ground stakes engaging the supports can be inserted into the ground. Successively smaller targets are connected to the larger target. The smaller targets are connected to the large target by a pair of straps. Each pair of straps consists of two sections. The straps are sewn to the middle sized target and have two ends extending radially in each direction from the large target. The straps are wrapped around and secured to both the large target and smaller target. Once wrapped around the respective target, the strap is secured to itself by such conventional means as snaps. In this manner, the smaller target can be removed from the middle target and the middle target can be removed from the larger target.

  • Patent number: 6974390
Abstract: A golf practice and exercise system having a practice ball and a target assembly, using either a conventional or practice golf club. The practice ball is any generally spherical shape made of a flexible material and having an internal pressure of approximately atmospheric, for example an uninflated soccer ball. The weight of the practice ball is sufficient to provide muscle development, but is limited to allow the golfer to complete the follow-through of the golf swing. The target assembly has an energy absorbing surface attached to a rigid frame held in place by a frame support structure. Alternatively, the target assembly is a flat surface made of a hard material. The practice golf club has a substantially oversized club head with a peripheral rim defining a large opening through the club head. The club head may be selectively weighted. The grip of the club has alternating annular ridges and recesses.

  • Patent number: 6881068
Abstract: Techniques for training and correcting a golf swing are described. A golfer places a ball at a teeing point on a teeing surface which is tiltably adjustable about a horizontal tilt axis. A catch device is aligned with a target direction passing through the teeing point and extending perpendicularly to the tilt axis. The golfer aims along the target direction and executes a golf swing to strike the ball from the teeing point. The actual direction of travel of the struck ball is determined. An azimuth difference is determined between the target direction and the actual direction of travel of the struck ball. The tilt angle of the teeing surface is varied about the tilt axis based upon the azimuth difference between the target direction and the actual direction of travel of the struck ball.

This permits the use of multi-filamentous nets or mesh for images or logos without disrupting the spectators' view and/or the use of both sides of the net or mesh for unidirectional images or logos.

Abstract: A large, resilient, hollow ball, of a size between that of a softball and a basketball, preferably a soccer ball or a volleyball, having a vent that allows restricted exit of air upon the ball being struck by a golf club and allows air to re-enter the hollow interior upon reflexing of the ball after being struck by a golf club. The ball may be combined with a target assembly that serves to return the ball to the striking position at which it has been struck.

Abstract: A practice golf net assembly includes a pair of collapsible closed, elongated loops interconnected one to the other with a netting panel for receiving and retaining a golf ball or the like on any relatively flat ground surface. A first of the collapsible loops forms a first substantially horizontal periphery and a second of the collapsible loops is attached to opposite sides of the horizontal periphery of the first loop. An arc of the second loop defines a vertical portion disposed perpendicularly to the horizontal periphery of the first collapsible loop, while the remaining arc of the second loop generally defines an horizontal portion proximate a horizontal portion of the first loop.

Abstract: The present golf ball catching funnel is comprised of a horizontal frame, a funnel-shaped sheet suspended within the frame, and legs elevating the frame and sheet off the ground. The frame is adapted to be positioned against the front of a golf ball driving net for catching golf balls as they drop from the net. Detachable fasteners along a rear edge of the sheet secure the golf ball catching funnel against the driving net, and thus prevent the golf balls from falling between the catching funnel and the driving net. A resilient tube with a longitudinal split is clipped around a front edge of the frame for preventing the golf balls from rolling off as they bounce back from the driving net. A hole is provided in the sheet for directing the golf balls into a bucket below to stretch taut the sheet and generally smooth out any wrinkles and ripples which might prevent the golf balls from rolling toward said hole.
