Attachable To Arm, Hand, Or Wrist Patents (Class 473/212)
  • Patent number: 7547256
Abstract: An apparatus for improving a golf swing that comprises a telescopic arm link shaft connected between a golfer's upper arm and the grip of a golf club held in the golfer's hands. The arcuate grip attachment member of the apparatus is easily held against the golf club grip by the golfer's hands. The shaft-to-grip connection pivots, while the shaft-to-arm-attachment-member connection provides swiveling movement. The arm attachment member can also be adjusted around the golfer's upper arm to provide a comfortable but non-slip connection. A stop on telescopic arm link shaft further allows the golfer to adjust the maximum amount of angle change desired during a golf swing. Thus, angle and rotational changes for the golfer's lower arm are permitted, while absolute alignment of the golfer's upper and lower arms to the golf club is maintained throughout the golf swing. Applications can include any sports implement used with a swinging motion.

Abstract: A golf club training device and method utilizes a substantially rigid, sleeve-type member that is positioned over a forefinger of a lower hand of a golfer. The sleeve-type member is positioned over a central portion of the forefinger, extends above and below the forefinger, and is open at both ends. The member restricts bending of the forefinger, so as to maintain an upper anterior portion of the forefinger away from a golf club handle during swinging. In one embodiment, the member is open along a portion of the posterior length thereof. In one embodiment, a thumb pad may also be provided, which is adapted to be positioned on the thumb of the lower hand and to be placed substantially squarely on the golf club handle, improving a user's golf swing.

  • Patent number: 7455595
Abstract: A golf training aid is adapted to be worn by a golfer. When worn, the golf training aid includes a forearm support secured to the leading forearm of the golfer. Rotatively mounted to the forearm support is an arm that extends past the hands of the golfer. Secured by the remote end of the arm is a shaft retainer that receives and holds the golf club shaft while the golf club is gripped and held by the golfer. The arm extending from the forearm support to the shaft retainer permits rotation of the arm about a first axis, but generally prevents or limits movement of the arm except about the first axis. The restrictions to movement imposed by the arm generally prevent the golfer from flipping his hands during the impact portion of the swing. That is, during the impact portion of the swing at least, the back of the leading hand remains generally fixed with respect to the adjacent forearm.

  • Publication number: 20080119299
Abstract: The present invention is a method and apparatus for a golf swing training that assists a trainee or golfer in improving their golf swing. The apparatus (1) of the present invention comprises a device designed to be supported between the forearms (2) of the trainee or golfer (3) during the golf swing. The dimensions of the device (1) are selected so the device (1) can be supported in relationship to the arms (2) of trainee in the same configuration as the relationship of the arms during a natural and proper golf swing. By supporting the golf training apparatus between the forearms, the golf training apparatus induces the trainee or golfer to maintain the forearms, and importantly, the wrists, in a “quiet state” that produces a more effective golf swing.

Abstract: A golf swing connector training device maintains a user's arms at a fixed distance during a dual-arm swing. The device comprises laterally opposite arm-receiving cuff assemblies and a lateral adjustment mechanism. Each cuff assembly comprises a C-shaped band assembly. The band assemblies each have an arc length, a dynamic radius of curvature, and a longitudinal cuff axis. The radii of curvature enable a relaxed cuff profile and an actuating cuff profile. The relaxed cuff profile defines a cuff axis, and the actuating cuff profile enables a user's upper arm to pass into and out of coaxial alignment with the static cuff axis. The lateral adjustment mechanism functions to selectively fix the distance intermediate the band assemblies. The device maintains the user's upper arms at a fixed distance relative to one another during a dual-arm swing and automatically connects the chest to the arms thereby creating the golf swing's perfect connection.

Abstract: The putt stabilizer improves a players putting stroke by providing a simple means to keep the wrist and forearm in position while making the stroke. The device braces the angle formed between the player's outside forearm and the putter shaft, allowing the player to keep this angle constant throughout the putt stroke. As the player learns to hold the proper position, they can gradually reduce their forearm pressure against the device until the preferred putting stroke can be made without aid from the invention.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a golf training device for use in teaching a golfer how to execute a proper golf swing, chipping stroke, and/or putting stroke using his or her own playing clubs. The golf training device according to the present invention includes a rod which defines a longitudinal axis and has first and second ends. A yoke assembly for engaging the and restraining the arms of a golfer is rotatably attached to the first end of the rod such that it is generally perpendicular to the longitudinal axis. A coupler for attaching to the grip end of a golf club is connected to the second end of the rod by a hinge having a pivot axis perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the rod. In a preferred embodiment, the rod includes a top section and a bottom section which are rotatable relative to each other on the longitudinal axis.

Abstract: A lightweight, portable device to assist one-armed limited humans to simulate a two-handed golf grip that may may have been lost due to a stroke, accident or illness. The device features an arm cuff (10) attached to a golf club shaft tube (12) which extends a sufficient length to encapsulate a majority portion of a golf club handle (28). At the opposite end of the shaft tube 12 is a elastic retaining cord (14) which fits over the wrist of the active arm (26) thereby holding the device snugly to the arm, both at an area around the wrist and at an area around the upper forearm due to the arm cuff. A retaining leaf (22) on the side of the shaft tube acts to help stabilize oscillation of the club handle yet permits easy movement of the club handle either for length of grip positioning or extraction/insertion of a golf club.
