  • Patent number: 7462136
Abstract: An elliptic motion exercise machine includes a frame, on which a reciprocating motion mechanism, a circular motion mechanism and two linking members are provided. Two parallelogram linkage mechanisms are movably mounted on the frame and connected to the linking members. Two foot panels are fixed on the parallelogram linkage mechanisms respectively. The parallelogram linkage mechanisms keep the foot panels in fixed slops in the entire motion, such that when an user stands feet on the foot panels and exerts the foot panels, toes of user's feet moves in a speed that is substantially identical to that of use's heels.

Abstract: A unique structure for an indoor exercise bike that provides strength in its design, as well as the flexibility to create an aesthetically appealing frame structure. The monocoque frame design, including two symmetrical halves joined together, forms a very strong, light shell that can take on a variety of shapes and sizes. The seat structure, handlebar structure, drive train and support platforms are all able to be readily attached to the primary frame structure to provide an exercise bicycle that is sturdy, easy to manufacture, and light enough to easily move when necessary.

  • Patent number: 7364532
Abstract: An exercise apparatus includes a rigid connector link having a first portion rotatably connected to a respective crank, a second portion constrained to move in reciprocating fashion, and a third portion connected to a foot support. The resulting assembly links rotation of the crank to movement of the foot support through a generally elliptical path. The connection points may be moved relative to one another and/or a supporting frame to adjust the size, shape, and/or orientation of the path.

Abstract: An apparatus and method for determining the power of a user of an exercise cycle by measuring an RPM and resistance level achieved by the user in combination with a predetermined relationship. The RPM may be measured by sensing the rotation of, for example, a driving wheel or flywheel of the exercise cycle. The resistance level experienced by the user may be varied by an eddy current braking system. The eddy current braking system may include a pair of magnets that sweep across the face of the flywheel to thereby vary the experienced resistance level.

Abstract: A MDOF muscle training machine is provided in the present invention. The training machine has multi-degree-of-freedom (MDOF) being able to be set by users to make various cyclic motions with respect to various groups of muscle to be trained. The training machine comprises an adjustable frame and a cyclic motion device. The adjustable frame has MDOF being able to be adjusted with respect to the various cyclic motions. The cyclic motion device is assembled on the adjustable frame. The adjustable frame can be adjusted to decide a specific position of the cyclic motion device with respect to specific groups of muscle. Both arms (legs) of the user are constrained by the cyclic motion device. The user has to coordinate the specific groups of muscle to drive the cyclic motion device.
