  • Patent number: 8291642
Abstract: A first movable barrier operator is actuated in order to move a first movable barrier to a first predetermined position via a first movement and according to a first operating characteristic. A second operating characteristic is selected for moving a second movable barrier to a second predetermined position via a second movement. The second operating characteristic is chosen so that the second movement of the second movable barrier to the second predetermined position does not interfere with the first movement of the first movable barrier to the first predetermined position. A second movable barrier operator is actuated to move the second movable barrier to the second predetermined position via the second movement according to the second operating characteristic.

  • Patent number: 8269600
Abstract: A method and apparatus that controls access to a secured area using an automated gate controlled secured environment is disclosed. The method may include receiving an indication that an individual attempting to pass through a clearance area has not been authorized to pass through the clearance area, automatically moving one or more gates to create a channel for the non-authorized individual to be directed to a manual screening area, determining if the non-authorized individual has passed one or more sensor; wherein if the non-authorized individual has been determined to have passed the one or more sensor, then moving a gate located behind the non-authorized individual to enable other authorized individuals to pass through the clearance area while maintaining the channel created to the manual screening area, and preventing the non-authorized individual from gaining access to the automated gate controlled secured environment once the non-authorized individual reaches the manual screening area.

  • Patent number: 7464794
Abstract: The invention is relating to a coupling device for elevator car (5) and landing doors of the kind comprising moving cams (3) integral with the car door (5) and driving the landing door in front of a story landing by means of a coupling plate integral therewith and engaging with the cams (3), locking it mechanically and electrically upon door closure to allow the subsequent drive of the car, wherein said cams (3) are movably mounted with a variable distance from each other on the car door (5), independently from the car door drive belt (19), and a part (7) is provided to drive the cams (3) with a variable distance, which part (7) is mounted on the car door (5) and connected to the drive belt (19) and to one of the cams (3) to drive it towards and away from the other cam (3) with a large displacement relative to a small overtravel drive of the belt (19), in order to respectively allow to unlock the coupling plate and its landing door drive coupling when the doors open and to lock it when they close.

  • Patent number: 6278376
Abstract: Method of facilitating release of an object caught by one or more closing transit vehicle door(s) in a motorized door system having a two stage lock, the two stage lock having a fully locked position and a pushback lock position. The method includes detecting the presence of the object by the effect of the object on either the position or the velocity of the door(s). The method also includes determining whether the door(s) are in a pushback range between the fully locked position and the pushback lock position. If an object is detected and the door(s) are in the pushback range, then one or more signals are supplied to a motor of the door(s) to move the door(s) in the door opening direction to or toward the pushback lock position.

  • Patent number: 5974737
Abstract: A self-opening and self-closing device enabling entry into a controlled access area includes a gate with two laterally retractable panels that may be opened by inserting a ticket or access card into a control mechanism. Each of the panels is controlled by a respective motor operated by the control mechanism. Each panel is secured to at least two runner members that are each operated by a roller secured to a link arm. The link arms are rotationally interconnected and rotated by the respective motor. Simultaneous rotation of the arms in opposite directions moves the two panels together (or apart) and thus closes (or opens) the entry device by moving each panel into a position in which it is locked by the respective arm in the horizontal position.
