Link-brace Between Closure And Stile Slide Patents (Class 49/187)
  • Publication number: 20100270898
Abstract: The displacement device serves to hold a separation element, which is pivotally connected to a bracket, which is held slideably by a first beam of a scissor assembly and firmly by a second beam of the scissor assembly with a scissor assembly bearing. The scissor assembly bearing comprises a profile body that is adapted to the bracket and can be connected thereto, which profile body comprises a profile part which is connected articulated to the first end element of an adjusting lever, of which the second end element is connected on the one hand pivotally with the second beam and on the other hand is held by an adjusting bolt, of which the threaded shank is rotatably mounted in a threaded channel of the profile body.

  • Patent number: 7441371
Abstract: The window assembly structure includes a control bar for limiting the extent of inward tilting of the sash commonly used for safe window cleaning. The control bar is forced to bend or distort during tilting of the sash producing a bias force that limits the amount of tilting. In a preferred structure the control bar is of a spring steel wire structure with various bent segments for effective and cost efficient securement of the control bar to the sash and frame.

  • Patent number: 7305795
Abstract: A window for use in buildings for housing animals, such as barns, that is openable in two generally perpendicular directions, is provided. The window includes an outer frame secured within an opening in the structure, a middle frame that is pivotally secured to the outer frame, and an inner frame pivotally secured to the middle frame. A first pivoting mechanism includes a pair of hinges that enable one of the frames to be pivoted with respect to the outer frame along a generally vertical axis, and the second pivoting mechanism enables the other frame to be pivoted with respect to the outer frame along a generally horizontal axis. The second mechanism pivots and slides one of the frames in order to open the window for ventilation purposes while enabling the remaining frame to remain closed, thereby preventing the entering or exiting of large objects through the window, such as an animal's head.

  • Patent number: 7111430
Abstract: A window assembly has a frame with balance channels to opposite sides of the frame, balance devices in the channels and a sash which is both slideable and tiltable relative to the frame. Also provided is a sash tilt limit bar which has a first end attached to the sash and a second end which is held within and which slides vertically of one of the balance channels without interfering with the balance device in the channel. The bar limits the tilting of the sash to positions which do not allow the second end of the bar to travel sufficiently far as to allow the bar to move to a position perpendicular to the frame where the bar might otherwise block closing of the sash.

  • Patent number: 6988334
Abstract: A window assembly with a frame and a sash mounted to tilt open relative to the frame includes a tilt control to prevent a free fall opening of the sash. The tilt control provides a resistance to the tilt opening of the sash. The sash applies a force on the tilt control as the sash is tilted open. The force increases the farther the sash is tilted open. The resistance provided by the tilt control also increases the farther the sash is tilted open to compensate for the increased force applied on the tilt control.

  • Patent number: 6347818
Abstract: A hold open arm assembly for a non-vertically hinged door prevents a door for a roof or floor opening from closing unexpectedly and allows one-handed operation. The assembly includes an elongated arm that bears directly against a stop aligned with the axis of the arm when a closing force, such as a wind load, is applied directly to the door. The arm has a guide that engages a guide slot in a bracket attached to the door. The guide slot is tapered and widens near the stop. When a closing force is applied to a handle connected to the arm, the guide moves parallel to the guide slot and the arm clears the stop, allowing the door to close. When the closing force is applied to the door, and not the handle, the guide moves perpendicular to the guide slot so that the arm engages the stop. The guide is provided with a low friction roller bearing for smooth operation.

  • Patent number: 4955159
Abstract: A retaining catch for a tip-out sash provides an automatically deployed retainer mechanism for a sash slidably captive in a window frame or jamb. The sash can be raised and lowered by sliding it along the jamb. A releasable tenon, for example at the top edge of the sash, allows the user to rotate the sash out of the plane of the jamb, facilitating cleaning of the outside. Releasing the sash from the jamb by releasing the tenon activates a mechanism with a distal hook by which the edge of the sash remains captive and displacement of the edge of the sash from the jamb is limited to the unfolded length of the mechanism. The mechanism can be released fully from the jamb by manual action of the user, whereupon the hook returns under spring bias to reside along the edge of the sash.

  • Patent number: 4453345
Abstract: A mounting is disclosed for the movable member of a window or door in a fixed frame which comprises four set-off arms connected to corners of the movable member. Each set-off arm is pivoted and slidably mounted to the movable member at one end thereof and pivotally mounted to the frame in an opposite end thereof. An auxiliary arm is pivotally mounted to the set-off arm at an intermediate location thereon and also to the movable member. The set-off arms take up opposite mirror image inclined positions with the movable member in its closed and opened position respectively. The upper set-off arms are mirror images of the lower set-off arms about a plane perpendicular to the plane of the movable member with the pivotal and sliding engagement between upper and lower set-off arms being closer to each other than the pivotal engagement between those set-off arms and their associated auxiliary arms.
