Pivoted Patents (Class 49/195)
  • Patent number: 8251784
Abstract: The invention generally relates to ventilation systems and methods, and more particularly to selectively configurable climate control systems and methods for use in data centers and the like. A system includes a first structural element and a second structural element spaced apart from first structural element to define a space between the first and second structural elements. The system also includes a plurality of partitions moveable into the space between the first and second structural elements and a controller arranged to control movement of the plurality of partitions.

  • Publication number: 20090133332
Abstract: A device and a method for opening a pivotable façade element both for everyday comfort ventilation purposes and for emergency opening in the case of e.g. fire. The device comprises a rigid frame part pivotable about a centre of rotation displaced from the centre of rotation of the pivotable façade element. The rigid frame part is moved by an actuator providing a lifting force to a contact surface of the façade element, thereby pivoting the façade element. The device also comprises a shock absorber. A release mechanism and a method of releasing a façade element is also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 5423144
Abstract: A window including sliding and pivoted panes with a first lateral section and a second lateral section. An upper U-shape guide with a detachable leaf and a lower U-shape guide with a detachable leaf are provided. Central separating sections are positioned in the lower U-shaped guide. The central separating sections are removable from the lower U-shape guide, the panes sliding in the upper U-shaped guide and the lower U-shaped guide on each side of the separating section. Inserted sections are provided connected to each of upper and lower edges of the pane, each of the inserted sections have rolling components and have a semi-shaft movable between a retracted position within one of the inserted sections and a protruded position. Each of the guides have drilled holes for receiving the semi-shaft in the protruded position. A device is provided for moving the semi-shaft between the retracted position and the protruded position.

  • Patent number: 4941287
Abstract: A window has an inner sash and outer sash that are removable from the frame. A pivotal step is located along an outer surface of the inner sash. For a double-hung window, there are two pivotal steps, one along each side of the outer surface of the inner sash. For a horizontal slider window, there is one pivotal step along a top of the outer surface of the inner sash. When the inner sash is tilted inward or removed from the frame, the pivotal step can be rotated inward to allow the outer sash to be tilted inward or removed. When the pivotal step is in an operating position in the window, it greatly reduces the air flow from an exterior of the window to an interior of the window around the sashes. With previous windows, there is no step immediately adjacent to an outer surface of the inner sash or, if there is such a step, the presence of the step makes the removal of the sashes cumbersome.

  • Patent number: 4187643
Abstract: A rectangular window frame defined by four frame members, has two spline members supported by a pair of laterally spaced frame members. The spline members are formed with blade portions arranged to retain a sash in the window frame. One on both of the spline members are longitudinally slidable in a tubular frame portion against a spring bias and each is normally retained at one end in a socket formed in an adjacent frame member. The spring bias is provided by a coil spring in the tubular frame portion bearing against the other end of the spline member. When the spline member is disengaged from the pocket it is rotatable out of the way to permit the sash to be installed in or removed from the window frame. The blade portion of each longitudinally slidable spline member may be formed with an aperture or slot to receive a tool for longitudinally sliding the spline member to disengage it from the retaining socket.

  • Patent number: 3981101
Abstract: A window construction having slidable and swinging hinged sashes is disclosed. The pivot arrangement for each sash is constructed for swinging of the sash about a vertical axis. Each sash is usually confined within the frame of the window by a pressure urged sash balance. The sash balance is constructed so that the sash may be moved against the sash balance to position it for swinging away from the frame. A removable T-shaped locking element is received in a channel provided in the jamb adjacent the pivot arrangement of the sashes. One member of the pivot arrangement is disposed within the jamb and has a vertical pivot pin formed thereon. The other member of the pivot arrangement receives one edge of the window pane and has a receptical complementary in shape to the pivot pin. The inner member of the pivot arrangement has a tab portion which cooperates with the locking element to keep the sash secured to the frame. Removing the locking element permits removal of the entire sash from the frame.
