  • Patent number: 4899608
Abstract: In a gear arrangement whose output shaft (5) is rotatably mounted in a gear box (6) and which corotates by means of a dog plate (3) via an axially interposed cushioning disk (2) with a gear (4) driven by a worm shaft (7) and, further, which output shaft is axially supported directly and/or indirectly, via the cushioning disk (2) and the gear (4), by the gear box (6), it is intended to provide, despite design related axial length tolerances, a tolerance play compensation in a manner which is considerably simplified from a production and assembly engineering viewpoint. Towards this end, the elastic cushioning disk (2) is provided with axially projecting spring lips (21 to 23), distributed over its circumference, for the development of a defined preloading pressure upon the components supported by the gear box (6).

  • Patent number: 4890376
Abstract: A method of assembling a post-assembly coupling system for interfacing vehicular door components, particular a window regulator, in a modular door panel assembly that does not require the assembler to see or reach the coupling in order to align or engage the coupling. The coupling assembly includes a dog 40 having a spring loaded pin 50 on one panel (e.g., a modular door interior trim panel 1) and a mating slide/receiver 70, having a sloping tray or ramp 72 with "V"-shaped guides 74 which converge to a female mounting hole 71, on the other panel (e.g. the door frame exterior panel 2). After snap assembly of the door panels, the dog and slide/receiver are brought into relative close proximity to each other and then brought together with the slide/receiver then automatically guiding the pin 50 into engagement with the mounting hole, into which it springs, thereby achieving a coupled, driving interface between the components.

  • Patent number: 4125966
Abstract: A unitized frame housing a slidable door. The main body of the frame is a single molded structure fittable between a pair of walls within a building. Guide means provided within the main body slidably receives a door which is opened and closed by an electric motor. Various linkages and gears connect the electric motor to the door. A neck integrally attached to the main body extends outwardly of the building walls housing the main body of the frame forms a passageway allowing access through the building walls and main body when the door is not closed. The neck flares outwardly providing a trim portion which seats outwardly of the building walls facilitating a smooth boundary between the building and neck. Means are provided for securing the unitized main body to the building.

  • Patent number: 4074463
Abstract: An electrically controlled window regulator for raising and lowering a mobile window of a motor vehicle door, and in which a slide rigidly connectable to said window is slidably mounted on a guide rigidly connectable to a support of said window, and is reciprocated by a flexible screw consisting at least partially of a precompressed spring extending through a rigid tubular member connected rotatably to said window support. The tubular member is provided with an inner volute with circulating balls coupled to the precompressed spring, and electrical drive means are provided to rotate the tubular member about its axis relative to said window support in one direction and to other.

  • Patent number: 4069616
Abstract: A window regulator mechanism for sequentially moving a plurality of window panels between open and closed positions including a pivotal gear sector adapted to rotate first through a first range of pivotal movement, while directly controlling the operation of a small vent window and which sequentially rotates through a second range of pivotal movement to directly control the operation of a second window. Lost motion means and a latch mechanism prevent simultaneous movement of the vent and the second window.

  • Patent number: 4000581
Abstract: A vehicle window regulator mechanism for lowering and raising two glass sections of a vehicle window comprises a pair of first and second regulator arms on which are supported a vent glass and a main glass, respectively, a sector gear pivotally mounted on a vehicle base plate member and operatively connected to the two arms, and a plurality of cam slots and cam followers operatively connecting the two arms with the sector gear and the vehicle base plate. The two glasses may be sequentially or simultaneously lowered and raised due to different arrangements between the cam slots and the cam followers upon rotational movement of the sector gear.

  • Patent number: 3965618
Abstract: A programmed sequential operator for producing sequential or at least not identically simultaneous movement of two different members. The operator includes an actuator reversely movable between limiting positions, first and second operating members each independently reversely movable between limiting positions, and connections between the actuator and operating members to produce forward and reverse movements of said members in programmed relation to forward and reverse movement of the actuator.
