With Means Mounting Closure For Swinging Patents (Class 49/381)
  • Patent number: 5193308
Abstract: A snap-in hinge assembly for mounting doors on door frames comprises a hinge with one of its leaves providing a plurality of spaced recesses, and a hinge leaf receiving receptacle mounted in a recess. The receptacle includes a reinforcing member having mounting portions secured to the frame or door and a seat portion defining a channel of a width dimensioned to receive the length of the hinge leaf. The seat portion has latch receiving recesses therein cooperatively positioned relative to the spaced recesses in the hinge leaf and a plurality of latch elements are disposed in the latch receiving recesses. Biasing elements bias the latch elements outwardly of the latch receiving recesses into the channel and they seat in the hinge leaf recesses when the hinge leaf is inserted thereinto. Thus, the door with one hinge leaf secured thereinto may be mounted on the door frame by inserting and sliding the hinge leaves into the channels of the receptacles to engage the latch elements in their recesses.

  • Patent number: 5187837
Abstract: A mullion mounted door hinge assembly for pivotally guiding upper and lower doors of a refrigerator. The hinge assembly includes a bracket which slidably accepts a generally cylindrical hinge pin. The hinge pin has a larger diameter center section and a pair of relatively smaller diameter end sections. Each of the end sections of the hinge pin extend into an accommodating opening in the upper or lower doors. The upper door is supported on an upwardly directed surface of the center section. A downwardly directed surface of the center section is supported by the lower door. A substantial portion of the weight of the upper door is transferred to the lower door and supported by the lower hinge means. A second preferred embodiment provides a stop means which engages a stop surface at a desired angular opening of the upper door of a refrigerator.

  • Patent number: 4132035
Abstract: The present invention is directed to an insulated window assembly including a fixed frame adapted to be installed in a building structure and a movable, pane carrying operating sash mounted on the fixed frame. The invention is characterized by the provision of a novel seal structure defined between the fixed frame and outer pane member, said seal being formed laterally interiorly of the glazed connection between the pane and sash whereby leakage between the fixed and moving frames is effectively blocked, the seal also protecting the said glazed connection. Where used in conjunction with a metal framed window device, the assembly provides protection against heat loss comparable to that provided by conventional thermal break windows, without the attendant disadvantages thereof.

  • Patent number: 4124954
Abstract: A self-closing gate incorporating a child-proof latch designed for constructing enclosures restricting accessibility thereto by small children. The self-closing gate comprises a gate, first and second vertically extending gate posts positioned at each side of the gate, and upper and lower gate hinges extending between the first gate post and one side of the gate. The upper and lower gate hinges are non-vertically aligned so as to provide a self-closing action to the gate. A gate latch extends between the second gate post and the opposite side of the gate, which by means of its design, restricts the gate to opening in one direction only, thus allowing access to the latch only by reaching over the gate.
