    Abstract: A window frame has a sash and a panel that is disposed parallel to the sash, both of which are slidably disposed in the frame. A receiver is fixed at a first end of the frame. When the sash is in a first position, the sash is disposed within the receiver. When the sash is in a second position, the sash is disposed outside the receiver. A motor is fixed relative to the frame with a drive system connecting the motor to the sash or the panel. A control input is connected to the motor and is configured to receive a signal from a controller, a sensor, or a building management system.

The battery may have six cells. Three pairs of parallel-connected cells may be connected together in series. The six cells may be substantially planar in shape. The battery may have a connector with at least five conductive pins and six recesses. The battery cable may have a cable with at least five conductive pins that mate with the five pins of the battery's connector and with six support pins that slide into the six recesses of the battery's connector. The batter connector may be formed on a printed circuit board substrate that folds over on itself.

    Abstract: For a laboratory fume hood where two sashes are provided and the total open area through the sashes must be regulated, a counterweight system having a dedicated counterweight for each sash and having the respective counterweights connected together by a cross cable draped over pulleys arranged above each respective counterweight. The cross cable has a preselected length to have a selected length of slackness which is equivalent to the total aggregate regulated travel of either or both sashes. Thus, one sash can be opened 100% or two sashes can be opened 50%.
