Abstract: A glue dispensing device comprises a base, a pressure control unit, a quantitative glue supply unit and a glue dispensing needle. The base comprises a pressure control chamber and a glue tube body, the pressure control chamber is located inside the base, the glue tube body extends from one end of the base to the other end, and the glue tube body penetrates the pressure control chamber. The pressure control unit is coupled to the pressure control chamber. The quantitative glue supply unit is disposed at one end of the base body and is coupled to the glue tube body. The glue dispensing needle is disposed at the other end of the base and is coupled to the glue tube body. The glue dispensing device uses the pressure change of the pressure control chamber to deform the glue tube body, thereby achieving quantitative glue dispensing effect with accuracy and stability. In addition, a glue dispensing method is also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 11465386
Abstract: A system and method for producing a board product characterized by having two corrugated mediums and at least one embossed medium in the board product. The board product may further include one or more facings that are adhesively coupled to either the corrugated medium, the embossed medium, or both. Generally speaking, a corrugated medium may be characterized as a paper product that exhibits flutes induced by a cross-corrugating process such that the induced flutes are perpendicular (or at least not congruent) with the machine direction of the paper product. An embossed medium may be characterized as a paper product that exhibits flutes induced by a linear-embossing process such that the induced flutes are aligned with the machine direction of the paper product. A resultant board product is stronger and more efficiently produced because of the linearly-embossed medium harnessing the natural strength of the paper in the machine direction.

  • Patent number: 10618242
Abstract: A single facer including a first corrugating roller with a first rotation axis and a second corrugating roller with a second rotation axis. The two corrugating rollers form a corrugating nip, through which a paper sheet passes. The single facer also includes a pressing member, co-acting with the second corrugating roller and forming a pressure nip therewith, as well as a glue applicator co-acting with the second corrugating roller. With the second corrugating roller a suction box is associated, extending approximately parallel to the second rotation axis of the second corrugating roller and defining a suction area around the second corrugating roller. A series of laminar members, each of which is inserted in a respective one of the annular grooves of the second corrugating roller, are arranged between the pressing member and the first corrugating roller and extend in the respective annular grooves towards the suction box.

Abstract: A forming device for gathering the width of a traveling web is disclosed. The forming device includes opposing arrays of flute-forming bars that can be interlaced to define therebetween a longitudinal flute-forming labyrinth effective to reduce the width of a web traveling therethrough by a preselected take-up ratio. The flute-forming bars are curved beginning at an entry end of the forming device such that they converge in a lateral direction as they proceed in the machine direction. In this manner, individual elements of the web traveling between the respective arrays in the machine direction follow contour lines along the curved bars or between adjacent ones of the curved bars so that no such element crosses any flute-forming bar in the cross-machine direction as the web travels and is fluted. A corrugating die for introducing a near-net shape to the intermediate-fluted web is also disclosed, as are a corrugating line incorporating these operations and methods for its operation.

  • Patent number: 7399267
Abstract: An apparatus and method for the vacuum assisted bonding of sections of corrugated cardboard and for manufacturing corrugated cardboard. A pressure plate has a bore for applying a vacuum therethrough. A first section of corrugated cardboard has an orifice which is aligned with the bore in the pressure plate. Adhesive is applied between the first section of corrugated cardboard and a second section of corrugated cardboard and the second section is placed adjacent to the first section away from the pressure plate. A vacuum is applied through the bore in the pressure plate and orifice in the first sections to cause the first and second sections to be drawn and adhered together. In the manufacture of corrugated cardboard, vacuum and optionally hot air are applied to opposite edges of the sandwiched core of fluted linerboard with adhesive and overlaying flat linerboard to draw them together to form the corrugated cardboard.

  • Patent number: 6926656
Abstract: An apparatus and method for fabricating corrugated composite stiffeners provides a base tool having grooves formed in an outer surface and a roller having a rotating shaft and a removable, lobed, elastomeric member surrounding the shaft. The lobes of the elastomeric member form a radial array around the shaft and match the contours of the grooves in the base tool. A section of prepreg fabric is placed between the roller and the base tool, and the roller is rotated to sequentially engage the lobes with the grooves, the lobes pressing the fabric into the grooves, the fabric conforming to the contours of the grooves. Several layers of fabric are applied, then the elastomeric member is released from the shaft, laid out flat, and placed on the fabric on the base tool, the lobes locating in the grooves. The base tool, fabric, and elastomeric member are enclosed in a vacuum bag and heated to cure the fabric.

  • Patent number: 6733432
Abstract: A single facer for corrugated paperboard of the type using a very large diameter fluted bonding roll and a much smaller diameter fluted corrugating roll which engages the bonding roll to provide a corrugating nip. The small diameter corrugating roll is made to be resilient so that it is capable of inward deflection in the vicinity of the corrugating nip in order to cushion impact as the rolls interengage along the corrugating nip. This cushioning deflection absorbs vibrational movement due to chordal action of the interengaging flutes, and thereby reduces noise levels, roll wear and improves the quality and consistency of corrugation.

The small diameter corrugating roll is made to be resilient by utilizing a thin walled roll shell so that it is capable of inward deflection in the corrugating nip in order to cushion impact and absorb the deflection as the rolls interengage along the nip. This cushioning deflection absorbs vibrational movement due to chordal action of the interengaging flutes, and thereby reduces noise level and roll wear and improves the quality and consistency of corrugation. A modified flute profile, compensating for flute pitch variations between the large diameter bonding roll and small diameter corrugating roll, assures uniform flute-to-flute engagement in the corrugating nip.
