Abstract: A bed linen comprises a single, continuous piece of fabric extending substantially completely across lateral dimensions of the bed linen and including elastomeric fibers and non-elastomeric fibers. The single, continuous piece of fabric is configured to stretch to at least 125 percent of an initial length thereof without damage thereto and to substantially return to the initial length thereof after being stretched. A bedding assembly and a method of forming a bedding assembly are also described.

In one embodiment, the crib liner may include a first panel configured to cover a portion of the spaced vertical support elements. The first panel may have first and second ends, a breathable body portion, a bottom border, and a top border. In some embodiments, the first panel may further comprise side borders. Fastening mechanisms may be provided at either or both ends for attaching the first panel to the crib. The breathable body portion may have an air permeability of between 385 CFM and 1530 CFM, a light permeability of between 47 and 99%, and a CO2 rebreathing value of less than 20%.

Abstract: A system for use with a bed having a frame and a supporting surface includes a sheet having a bottom surface placed above the supporting surface of the bed, a top surface, and a plurality of tether straps connected to and extending from the sheet. Each tether strap is configured for connection to the bed. The bottom surface is at least partially formed of a low friction material, and the top surface is at least partially formed of a high friction material, such that the top surface provides greater slipping resistance than the bottom surface. The tether straps include at least two pairs of tether straps, with one pair connected proximate a top edge of the sheet and another pair connected proximate a bottom edge of the sheet. The sheet may further include a sliding member on the bottom surface to assist in lateral sliding of the sheet.

Abstract: The embodiments described herein generally relate to a system and method for joining a detachable fabric sheet to a cover through the use of one or more corresponding fastening or temporary joining mechanisms located on the cover and fabric sheet. In an embodiment, the cover includes one or more mechanisms to align and/or secure a filling material to the cover, as well as one or more fastening or temporary joining mechanisms for attaching the detachable fabric sheet to the cover. Methods and systems are provided for detachably joining the fabric sheet to the cover, for creating a multi-layer unit of a cover and detachable sheets, as well as for aligning and securing the filler to the cover. A method is also provided for manufacturing the integrated bedding cover system.

The tether strap is configured for connection to the frame of the bed to secure the sheet in place. A system incorporating the flexible sheet may also include an absorbent pad configured to be placed on the top surface of the sheet, where the high-friction top surface resists sliding of the absorbent pad, as well as one or more wedges having a base wall that the wedge rests on and a ramp surface configured to confront the sheet when the wedge is placed under the sheet. The base wall and the ramp surface may also contain high friction and low friction materials, respectively.

The detachable waterproof pad of the present invention seeks to reduce the risk of sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS) by providing a tightly fitted pad to comply with current SIDS recommendations. The pad can be changed, cleaned, and replaced frequently.

The bedding product can have a plain body attached to a colored hem which is made color fast so as to inhibit fading of the colored hem and/or prevent bleeding, crocking, and/or running of color from the colored hem onto the plain body during the useful life of the bedding product. The colored hem can be made color fast by a method including selecting a fabric, selecting dyes based on the fabric, preparing the fabric such as by mercerizing, applying the dyes, and treating the dyed fabric to remove unfixed dyes contained in the fabric to improve subsequent colorfastness.

A top sheet includes a plurality of apertures configured to accept at least one fastener along ends of a bottom sheet. Together, the bottom sheet and top sheet substantially eliminate the possibility of bed clothing moving out of a stable position when the bed is in use, creating an adjustable personal fit for the bed occupant to improve sleep quality and comfort.

Abstract: A fitted blanket fits over a mattress and secures underneath to prevent the blanket from moving off the user while sleeping in bed. The blanket can include an elastic material on at least the underside corner edges thereof. Children and adults alike can stay warm at night as their blankets cannot fall away or off of them while sleeping. The fitted blanket may further include an opening and closing mechanism to allow for easy entry and exit, rather than having to untuck the blanket, as is the case with conventional blankets. The opening and closing mechanism may also provide an easy way to make the bed. The fitted nature of the blanket prevents blanket slippage or movement. The blanket may further include a cut-out region for pillow placement. The blanket can also include glow-in-the-dark elements or illuminated elements to light up the blanket at night.

Abstract: A mattress cover is disclosed for redirecting shear on a patient's skin away from the areas of the body relatively more likely to develop decubitus ulcers. The mattress cover includes an upper portion designed to cover the topside of a mattress, and at least one shear transfer zone attached to an underside of the upper portion of the mattress cover. The shear transfer zone(s) may be made of a low shear material so as to create a low friction interface between the mattress and the mattress cover to reduce shear forces exerted by the mattress. Additionally, the shear transfer zone(s) may be arranged such that a large portion of the shear forces exerted by the mattress can be redirected to areas of the body that are relatively less likely to develop decubitus ulcers.

Abstract: The disclosure is directed to a bedding cover that allows for the easy and rapid insertion of a blanket or duvet and an easy, rapid method of making a bed using such a bedding cover. The bedding cover is durable with a type of closure that does not reduce the longevity of or damage the bedding cover despite multiple launderings. A kit containing a container and the disclosed improved bedding cover; and optionally, at least one of: a mattress sheet or bottom sheet; a pillow case; a dust ruffle; and a blanket or a duvet.

Abstract: A patient repositioning system for pulling a patient toward a head end of a bed includes a sheet, a mattress, and a housing which contains at least a part of a drive mechanism for operatively coupling to and pulling the sheet. The housing resides below a head end piece of the mattress, and is secured to the bed deck. The sheet pulling structure extends out of the housing via a slot and releasably attaches to the sheet, in a manner which has a low profile so as to pass through the slot. The sheet is longer than and wider than the mattress, and has beaded longitudinal side edges which are retained within rows of spaced retainers located on opposite sides of the mattress. During pulling of the sheet, the contoured shape of the housing facilitates movement of the sheet into the housing via the slot, even though the sheet width extends beyond the lateral edges of the mattress.

A turn sheet system for turning a patient in a bed includes a bottom sheet having a first length and a first width configured and dimensioned to overlie the bed. A top sheet having a second length and a second width is fixed to the bottom sheet along a location extending intermediate of the second width and along a majority of the second length.

Abstract: The invention is a bedding apparatus, to be used with a conventional mattress. The bedding's bottom layer is fitted, so as to fit snugly around a mattress. The bottom layer is connected to the top layer by an attachment device, preferably two zippers. The top layer extends over three edges of the bottom layer, so as to appear aesthetically pleasing and provide comfort to the user. The zippers allow a user to easily and quickly make up the bed after sleeping in the bedding. It also functions to keep the top layer from falling off of the bed while sleeping and facilitates the user in weekly changing of the bed.

Abstract: A footboard includes a main body and first and second shelves coupled to the main body. The first shelf is pivotable relative to the main body about a substantially horizontal first axis through a first angle of about 270° between a first storage position and a first use position. The second shelf is pivotable relative to the main body about a substantially horizontal second axis through a second angle of about 90° between a second storage position and a second use position. The main body of the footboard has a recess in which the first and second shelves are situated when the respective storage positions.

Abstract: This invention is a modular blanket system for double beds essentially built like a ring binder where the rings, called straps, are made of a flexible material and are closed by means of detachable fasteners such as hook-and-loop, snaps or buttons. The use of straps as a binding means allows blanket leaves to be added, subtracted or paged from one side to the other depending on the sleepers' need for warmth or decorative taste.

Abstract: A rapid bed making system and method includes a first sheet for securing to a mattress and a “T” shaped second sheet. Cooperating releasable fasteners are affixed to the top surface of the first sheet and to the bottom surface of a first panel of the second sheet. After the first panel of the second sheet is aligned and pressed together with the top surface of the first sheet, a second confluent panel of the second sheet sized to be the same length as the first panel, and with left and right side mattress overlay extensions, is brought up and over the first panel. The first sheet remains in place. The “T” shaped sheet is removed for washing and subsequent reinstallation. Sheet changing of bunk beds and beds with limited access to one or more sides is simplified especially for the elderly and/or disabled.

Abstract: Disclosed is an improved bedding system that provides a connection means between a fitted bottom sheet and a flat sheet, whereby neatly making the bed is facilitated with minimal effort. The flat sheet comprises three pleated corner lines that improve properly aligning the flat sheet with the bed, where the vertical portions of the flat sheet fall naturally to the sides of the bed as the flat sheet top region is placed over the mattress upper surface. Along the head region of the flat sheet, a pair of slits along the lateral sides of the sheet allows the upper portion of the flat sheet to be pulled away from the bed pillows while its side panel regions are still connected to the bed. Finally, an embodiment of the connector elements includes a line of sewn connection between the bottom fitted sheet and the top sheet up to the lateral slits.

Abstract: The present invention provides a bed sheet attachment system that allows a user to quickly and easily change bed sheets. In one embodiment, the fitted sheet of a bed comprises an upper surface and at least one attachment member disposed on the upper surface. A quick-change sheet having upper and lower surfaces also is provided, wherein at least one attachment member is disposed on the lower surface of the quick-change sheet. In use, the attachment member of the quick-change sheet is configured to releasably mate with the attachment member of the fitted sheet, thereby facilitating the changing of the quick-change sheet. Further, at least one pocket member may be releasably coupled to the fitted sheet, to thereby providing one or more storage locations in close proximity to the bed.

Abstract: The disclosure features a fabric comprising polymer fibers and an antimicrobial system. The antimicrobial system comprises a sequestering agent and an agent binding the sequestering agent on surfaces of at least some of the polymer fibers. In some implementations, at least some of the sequestering agent remains on polymer fiber-surfaces after 50 cycles of laundering.

Abstract: A fabric comprises a woven fabric having continuous filament warp yarns and continuous filament filling yarns, wherein the warp yarns are about 30 denier to 100 denier, and the filling yarns are about 30 denier to 100 denier, wherein the warp yarns and filling yarns are woven together in a plain weave to provide a pill resistant fabric having identical surfaces on both sides thereof, and wherein each surface has a coefficient of friction that does not exceed 0.35 under both dry and wet surface conditions. The fabric has a wicking rate of between about 1.00 and 1.75 inches per minute, and has a percent dryness after 45 minutes of 90%.

Abstract: A bed covering made of a substantially rectangular fabric having a head end, a foot end and an unfolded width. A first series of fastening elements, proximate to the foot end, is arrayed on one side of a center line of the bed covering. A second series of fastening elements, proximate to the foot end and complementary to the first series, is arrayed on an opposing side of the center line. The first and second series of fastening devices allow the bed covering to be placed in a fastened configuration where the width of the foot end of the bed covering is less than the width of the head end of the bed covering.
