Abstract: A nursing bed for defecation and self-cleaning comprises a bed frame, a bed board device, a moveable cushion, a support frame, a bedpan, an excreta container; The bedpan is hung under the movable cushion through a support frame. When the patient wants to defecate, the patient only needs to remove a cushion and make the bedpan mouth of the bedpan facing the defecation hole of the moveable cushion, then the patient can defecate on the nursing bed; and further having a cleaning device a warm water supply device, using an electric heater to heat the cleaning water to an appropriate temperature to clean the patient's buttocks, thereby reducing the infection of germs, and also cleaning the excrement that attached to the bedpan to keeps the bedpan clean.

Abstract: A bed with an integral toilet includes a frame, a mattress and a support for supporting the mattress on the bed frame. The mattress and support define an opening extending through the mattress and support. A robotic system removes and replaces a cushion for filling the opening and for replacing the toilet in alignment with the opening. An integral bidet, a source of clean water, a nozzle, a variable speed pump and mechanism for connecting a source of water to the bidet are included. A second opening in a lower portion of the toilet is connected to a waste storage tank. An odor eliminator is provided and a remote control allows a patient to control the unit.

Abstract: A convertible patient bed is disclosed that includes: a middle section, a top section, and a bottom section, each section further includes a first lateral subsection and a second lateral subsection; a push-pull motor coupled to push the top section and to pull the bottom section to transform the patient bed into a chair, a sliding motor coupled to slide the said first lateral subsection and said second lateral subsection in and out of each of the middle section, top section, and bottom section respectively at a predetermined angle to change the width of the patient bed; and a motor coupled to an opening and a cover in the middle of the middle section to accommodate to the needs of a patient.

Abstract: A mattress apparatus that combines the functionality of a hospital bed with that of a bedpan is herein disclosed. A bedpan assembly is provided to temporarily replace a slidable mattress section in the middle of the mattress area. In use, a person confined to a bed can use the bedpan without exiting the bed, thereby avoiding undue physical stress. The bedpan is inserted under a buttock area for normal use using an integrated track system, and slid out being coincidentally replaced by the slidable mattress section, to return the bed to its original condition. The bedpan can be removed, emptied, and cleaned by the care-giver without disturbing the patient.

Abstract: A system for supporting a patient on a removable patient support unit, such as a backboard, includes a platform having spaced elements for supporting the removable patient support unit. The patient support unit is elevated above the platform and there is an unimpeded region between the platform and the patient support unit to facilitate placing x-ray film cassettes under the patient. The x-ray film cassettes can be placed and adjusted without disturbing the patient. The platform has features to hold x-ray film cassettes in a vertical position, catch and hold blood, support the backboard at an angle, and provide containers for sharp instruments. The system also includes arm boards for constraining the patient. A mattress covered bed can also be used with the platform.

Abstract: This invention relates in general to a dual-function bed used as a chair equipped with a patient toilet. The bed is designed to be selectively used as a chair by controlling the folding angle of it with the operation of a reduction motor. Moreover, as attached equipment, the toilet having the capabilities of cleaning itself and discharging excrement, gives great convenience to a patient. Subsequently, this invention allows a disabled and non-ambulatory patient to relieve oneself and rest by simply operating a control unit without nurse.

Abstract: A bed for patient care having a waste disposal system. The bed includes a back, seat and two leg sections for supporting the patient. These sections of the bed may be raised and lowered and tilted. The leg sections may be moved independently for use with patients having one leg immobilized. The seat section includes two panels which part to permit a waste canister to be raised to interface with the buttocks of the patient. An audible signal alerts the patient prior to this action. The waste canister provides a directable bidet wash, and an air drying feature. Gelling material within the canister swells during the bidet function to cover and seal the waste. Abstract: A bed system with an excreting mechanism of the present invention includes a front base for receiving the upper half of a patient's body and having a first front portion capable of being tilted up or down, a rear base for receiving the lower half of the patient's body and having a second front portion capable of being tilted up or down, a pot seat for supporting the patient's buttocks, a chamber pot for receiving the patient's excretions, and a posture regulating mechanism for regulating the patient's posture. In tilting up of the second front portion of the rear base, the pot seat is positioned between the rear end of the front base and the front end of the rear base, and the chamber pot is positioned under the pot seat. The second portion of the rear base is tilted up or down around the rear edge of the second front portion as a supporting shaft and can be tilted up or down around the front edge of the second front portion as a supporting shaft.
