Patent number: 8524896
Abstract: A compound of the formula (I) where, for example, W, X and Y are each CH; R1 and R6 together with the adjacent nitrogen forms a 3 to 10-membered saturated ring, wherein the ring may contain, in addition to the nitrogen and carbon ring members, 1, 2 or 3 heteroatoms and/or heteroatom groups as ring members, independently of one another, selected from the group consisting of sulfur, CO, SO, SO2 and N—R7 and/or the ring may carry 1, 2 or 3 radicals, independently of one another, each selected, for example, from the group consisting of halogen, cyano, nitro, amino, and C1-C6-alkyl. R2 is, for example, halogen, C1-C6-alkyl, C1-C6-haloalkyl, C1-C6-alkoxy, C1-C6-haloalkoxy or C1-C6-alkoxy-C1-C6-alkoxy, and R7 is for example, R10C(?O), C1-C6 alkyl or C1-C6-haloalkyl; and/or salts thereof; and their use as pesticidal agents.

Abstract: The present invention relates to novel trifluoromethoxyphenyl-substituted tetramic acid derivatives of the formula (I), in which J, X, Y, A, B, D and G have the meanings given above, to a number of processes for their preparation, and to their use as pesticides and/or herbicides. The invention further provides selective herbicidal compositions which comprise, firstly, trifluoromethoxyphenyl-substituted tetramic acid derivatives and, secondly, a crop plant compatibility-improving compound. The invention further relates to the boosting of the action of crop protection compositions comprising compounds of the formula (I) through the additions of ammonium salts or phosphonium salts and optionally penetrants.

Abstract: Methods and compositions are provided related to improved plants that are tolerant to more than one herbicide. Particularly, the invention provides plants that are tolerant of glyphosate and are tolerant to at least one ALS inhibitor, and methods of use thereof. The glyphosate/ALS inhibitor-tolerant plants comprise a polynucleotide that encodes a polypeptide that confers tolerance to glyphosate and a polynucleotide that encodes an ALS inhibitor-tolerant polypeptide. In specific embodiments, a plant of the invention expresses a GAT polypeptide and an HRA polypeptide. Methods to control weeds, improve plant yield, and increase transformation efficiencies are provided.
