  • Patent number: 9011855
Abstract: The present weed reducing material reduces the necessary weed control work by making joint filling sand a hostile substrate for plant and fungus growth by using an environmentally acceptable slow release mineral additive. The additive, having similar grain size distribution, mechanical and rheological properties, forms an integral part of the joint filling sand. The specific gravity of the additive is lower than quartz sand imparting a tendency for the additive to migrate towards the top part of the joint. The additive leads to pore waters rich in sodium and at high pH, both qualities being maintained over long periods. The mixture of additive and sand is handled and applied using conventional laying techniques and equipment, observing usual precautions for mortar or cement mixes with sand. In the environment, reaction with CO2 in the air or in the soil porosity inactivates the causticity, yielding harmless carbonate salts.

  • Patent number: 8163244
Abstract: Provided is a device for generation of cyclopropene compounds which is capable of achieving direct in situ preparation and application of cyclopropene compounds inhibiting the action of ethylene which accelerates the ripening process of plants, the device comprising a first storage part for storing precursors of cyclopropene compounds (“cyclopropene precursors”), a second storage part for storing reaction reagents which convert cyclopropene precursors into cyclopropene derivatives via chemical reaction, and a spray part for spraying the cyclopropene derivatives produced by the chemical reaction between the cyclopropene precursors and the reaction reagents.

  • Publication number: 20120028801
Abstract: Aspects of the invention relate to organic biostimulant compositions, including, for example, formulations comprising corn steep liquor (CSL) and water. In certain illustrative embodiments, the organic biostimulant composition further comprises from one to five microbial strains as an inoculant. Another aspect of the invention relates to a method of cultivating plants that comprises the steps of preparing an organic biostimulant composition comprising water and CSL, and applying the organic biostimulant composition through a delivery system to a growth medium supporting plants.

  • Publication number: 20120010078
Abstract: This invention relates to a new formulation activating the absorption of mineral nutrients by plants. Consequently, it has also an effect on the metabolization of these mineral compounds by the plant. These formulations that have been discovered with this property activating nutrient absorption have as main component the compounds represented by general formula 1 CH3—S—CH2—CH2—CH(OR1)—COR2??1 where R1 is selected from the group formed by hydrogen, alkyl rests, (preferably methyl or ethyl), and aryl: while R2 is selected from the group formed by hydroxyl, amides, alkyl rest esters (preferably methyl or ethyl), or aryl. When the rest is hydroxyl, acid salts with monovalent cations, preferably Na+ and K+, polyvalent cations, preferably Cu++ and Fe+++, and electropositive organic compounds such as amines (e.g., ethanolamine) are also considered.
