  • Patent number: 9200230
Abstract: Described are various formulations of lubricant additive composition comprising an additive base oil, a chlorinated paraffin, and a first antioxidant that can be used as a stand-alone lubricant or can be used in an additive package that can be added to another lubricant composition (e.g., an engine oil, a transmission fluid, a turbine oil, a gear oil, a grease, etc.). Also described are various engine oil composition comprising the lubricant additive composition.

  • Patent number: 6797679
Abstract: Provided is a lubricant composition prepared by adding, to a base oil, (a) from 0.01 to 5% by mass, based on the composition, of a phosphate, (b) from 0.005 to 1% by mass of an amine salt of an acid phosphate and (c) from 0.01 to 1% by mass of a sulfur-containing extreme-pressure agent. The composition is favorable for non-zinc hydraulic oil, which has good oxidation resistance, sludge resistance and wear resistance and further has improved extreme pressure resistance and prolonged fatigue life.

  • Patent number: 5700764
Abstract: Lubricants and additive packages that give exceptional performance as heavy duty gear lubricants are described. Four essential oil-soluble additive components are used in combination, viz., a metal-free sulfur-containing antiwear and/or extreme pressure agent having a copper corrosion test activity of not more than 65; a metal-free phosphorus- and nitrogen-containing antiwear and/or extreme pressure agent; an organic carboxylic acid; and an organic amine. Tests comparing the performance of the invention against a commercial premium API GL-5 gear oil additive package selected as the best available package by a well-known OEM have shown the superiority of the present compositions under a number of test conditions.
