A process for making a lubricant, comprising blending together: a) a mixture of amine phosphates, b) an alkenyl succinic compound, and c) a highly paraffinic lubricating base oil. A method of improving the rust inhibition of a lubricating oil by incorporating a solubility improver having an aniline point <10° C.
