Abstract: Antimicrobial compositions that provide enhanced immediate and residual anti-viral and antibacterial efficacy against rhinovirus, rotavirus, coronovirus, respiratory syncytial virus, Gram-positive bacteria, Gram-negative bacteria and combinations thereof. More specifically, antimicrobial compositions comprising an organic acid or organic acid mixture and a short-chain anionic surfactant having at least one of a large head group; a branched alkyl chain and an unsaturated alkyl chain. Further, products incorporating the antimicrobial compositions of the present invention and methods of using the antimicrobial compositions and products are disclosed herein.

Abstract: An antimicrobial hand wash comprises an active ingredient and an amidoamine based cationic surfactant having a fatty chain with from 6 to 24 carbon atoms. These cationic surfactants are compatible with common active ingredients such that antimicrobial efficacy is maintained, while foam quality is improved when the hand wash is dispensed as foam. Abstract: This invention is concerned with odor control animal shampoo. Odor control animal shampoos in accordance with this invention comprises a shampoo base to which is added a halo sulfonamide compound. In use the halo sulfonamide compound, as is contained in the shampoo, reacts with odorous nitrogen and sulfur bearing compounds which are contained on the body of a pet. The halo sulfonamide compound reacts with the nitrogen and sulfur compounds to reduce these compounds to a non odorous format. The animal shampoo of this invention are particularly effective in controlling odors which originate on dogs and cats. The halo sulfonamide compound can be present in the shampoo formulation at any effective concentrations. Shampoo formulations which incorporate from about 0.1 to about 5.0 weight percent of a halo sulfonamide compound have been found to be effective. Chloramine-T is a preferred sulfonamide compound for use as an odor control agent in the shampoo formulations of this invention.

Abstract: A sanitizing applicator for applying a liquid sanitizer to a surface. The sanitizer may be a quaternary ammonium compound (QAC)-based or chlorine-based sanitizer containing positively charged ions at an effective concentration level for killing a predefined percentage of microbes present on the surface. The applicator includes a breakable internal reservoir for retaining a quantity of the sanitizer, and a positively charged nonwoven fabric covering the reservoir. The fabric is constructed using a positively charged binder to bind together the strands of the fabric, and is optionally treated with a positively or neutrally charged surfactant. The positive charge of the fabric prevents the fabric from neutralizing the positively charged ions in the sanitizer when the breakable internal reservoir is broken and the sanitizer is applied to the fabric.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a biocidal cleaning composition comprising a biocide, a surfactant of formula R—O—(G)n, and an amphoteric surfactant; wherein R is an alkyl group; G is a saccharide residue; and n is a number from 0–4 to 10.
Abstract: An antiseptic cleansing composition comprising an antimicrobial agent, an effective amount of an alkylpolysaccharide surfactant, at least one alkyl alcohol and at least one aryl alcohol. Suitable surfactant alkylpolysaccharides may contain one or more sugar units selected from the group consisting of maltose, arabinose, xylose, mannose, galactose, gulose, idose, talose, allose, altrose, sucrose, fructose, sorbose, levulose, lactose, allulose, tagatose, alloheptulose, sedoheptulose, glucoheptulose, mannoheptulose, guloheptulose, idoheptulose, galactoheptulose, taloheptulose and derivatives thereof. Suitable antimicrobial agents include chlorhexidine, chlorhexidine salt, chlorophenol derivative, octenidindihydrochloride (CH3—(CH2)7—NHON—(CH2)10—NO—NH(CH2)7—CH2 or any other salt thereof, and quaternary ammonium compounds.

Abstract: An article for sanitizing a surface with a sanitizing solution while maintaining the concentration level of a sanitizer in the sanitizing solution at an effective concentration level. A substrate that absorbs and holds the sanitizing solution is treated with a sanitizer release polymer composition. The substrate may be a woven, nonwoven, or knit fabric, a foam or sponge, or the like. The sanitizer release polymer composition may include a cationic or nonionic surfactant or binder that is operable to maintain the concentration level of the sanitizer at the effective level during prolonged periods of use.
