Polycarboxylic Acid Component, Or Acid Anhydride, Salt, Or Ester Thereof (e.g., Maleic Anhydride Polymer, Polyacrylic Acid, Etc.) Patents (Class 510/398)
  • Patent number: 5733858
Abstract: Solutions comprising at least one polyamino disuccinic acid and one or more polyamino monosuccinic acids are useful in gas conditioning (preferably as the iron chelate). The copper chelates are also useful in electroless copper plating. Another aspect of the invention includes the use of the aminosuccinic acid mixtures in laundry detergent compositions.

  • Patent number: 5733856
Abstract: A laundry detergency boosting polymer blend additive is made up of:a) a graft copolymer of polyalkylene oxide with vinyl ester, the graft copolymer having a molecular weight within the range of about 5,000 to 50,000; andb) at least one polycarboxylate selected from the group consisting of acrylic/maleic acid copolymers having a molecular weight within the range of about 1,000 to 100,000, and polyacrylic acid having a molecular weight of from about 1,000 to 100,000. The polymer blend additive is effective in water with an ion hardness in the range of about 50 to 500 ppm. The detergency boosting performance of the polymer blend additive is maintained or increased as the concentration of the hardness ions in water is increased.

  • Patent number: 5731278
Abstract: Low cost, highly aqueous, thickened heavy duty liquid laundry detergent compositions are provided. Such compositions contain relatively low levels of surfactant materials, a formate-based viscosity-enhancing agent, a selected type of thickening perfume and relatively large amounts of water. Only minimal amounts of other detergent composition adjuvants are permitted in such compositions.

  • Patent number: 5587356
Abstract: Low cost, effective aqueous heavy duty liquid laundry detergent compositions are provided. Such compositions contain relatively low levels of an anionic/nonionic-based suffactant system along with a protease-containing enzyme component, a low-cost viscosity-enhancing agent and relativly large amounts of water. The anionic component of the surfactant system comprises a combination of alkyl sulfate and alkyl ether sulfate. The nonionic component of the suffactant system comprises fatty alcohol ethoxylates. Only minimal amounts of other detergent composition adjuvants are permitted in such compositions.

  • Patent number: 5554321
Abstract: A method of making a hard surface abrasive scouring cleanser, in steps comprising making an aqueous solution of nonionic surfactant and pH adjusting agent; making a slurry of water and a calcium carbonate abrasive, and allowing the slurry to degas; adding the slurry of to the aqueous solution slowly with gentle mixing and allowing the resultant mixture to degas; and adding a quantity of cross-linked polyacrylate and any other adjunct ingredients. The cleanser has no significant syneresis, undue viscosity or yield stress increase, stably suspends abrasives, and has excellent rinsing characteristics.

  • Patent number: 5538663
Abstract: A detergent composition is disclosed. The composition comprises polymer particles having an average particle size of 50-500 .mu.m in 5% by weight sodium chloride aqueous solution and a modulus of elasticity of 1.times.10.sup.3 -5.times.10.sup.5 dyne/cm.sup.2 in said sodium chloride aqueous solution. It exhibits a superior physical or mechanical washing performance, and gives remarkably reduced irritation and minimal damage to the object being washed. When a germicide is incorporated in addition to the polymer particles, its sterilization effect is greatly enhanced.
