  • Patent number: 10006212
Abstract: An assembled house has a house framework, a roof framework, wall panels and a roof panel. The house framework has multiple beams, columns, and connectors. The roof framework has multiple rafters. Each one of the connectors is mounted securely in the column, and has multiple screw sleeves mounted securely in a concrete body. Thus, the beam can be connected securely to the column by screws screwed into the screw sleeve of the connector. Welding is not required for assembling the house framework on the site of the assembled house, thereby effectively accelerating the assembling. In addition, the beams and the columns are connected without welding, which eliminates the problem that the welded portions may easily rust. Furthermore, the columns, rafters, and the beams are hollow tubes, which can effectively lower the weight of the whole assembled house.

Abstract: The invention discloses multi-storey building structures of different sizes and purposes, built on long-span beams laid on cornerstones of minimal dimensions, on the opposite sidewalks of streets and the medians separating street lanes. Such buildings basically occupy the air-space above streets and roads and may be used for parking garages, residential, office and commercial space or for an optimal combination of them. Parking garages built on the air-space above intersections of roads may enable entry from any direction and exit to a different one, with or without parking and greatly contribute to the rationalization of car traffic in modern mega-cities. Such multi-storey buildings comprising in addition to parking garages, office, residential and commercial space, may save valuable timing wasted in going from one place to another.

  • Patent number: 8844244
Abstract: A take-up fastener is disclosed for fastening a level in a frame construction to the level below so as to resist upward forces generated by wind and other sources on the framed construction. The take-up fastener in general includes a take-up plate, or washer, fastened to a portion of the upper level and a take-up screw fit through the take-up plate and fastened to the adjacent level below. Once the take-up fastener is fully assembled, the take-up plate includes a pair of tabs which are capable of engaging threads on a take-up screw in a way that allows one-way motion of the take-up screw relative to the take-up plate. In particular, the take-up plate can move downward relative to the take-up screw, for example on constricting of the wooden members to which the take-up plate is affixed. However, the engagement between the take-up plate and take-up screw prevents movement of the take-up plate upward with respect to the take-up screw, for example upon an upward load due to wind or other external force.

Abstract: A building includes a connection between an engineered wood load bearing element of the building such as a column, beam, or load bearing panel, and another load bearing element or a foundation of the building. At least one tendon ties the load bearing elements or the load bearing element and the foundation together. One or more energy dissipaters, replaceably connected between the load bearing element and/or the foundation, absorb energy when a loading event causes relative movement of the connection. The engineered wood element may be a laminated veneer lumber element, a parallel strand lumber element, or a glue laminated timber element, for example. Typically all of the load bearing elements of the building will be engineered wood elements. The building may be single or multi-storey. The building system enables lightweight low cost buildings, with energy dissipaters which may be replaced after extreme loading. The building may be prefabricated.

Abstract: A prefabricated insulation wall panel for construction of a wall includes two elongated studs, each having a planar web section and inner and outer flanges, one or more insulation boards vertically disposed between the two studs, and one or more reinforcing mesh fastened to the flanges of the elongated studs on inner, outer or both sides of the wall panel. The reinforcing mesh has a preformed overhang section extending laterally beyond the elongated stud. The web section includes multiple through-holes spaced apart vertically, closer to the inner flange than to the outer flange. The insulation board is thinner than the width of the wed section, disposed with its inner surface against inner flanges of the studs and two side edges covering the through-holes on the web section of the stud, thus establishing a distance between the outer surface of the insulation board and the outer flanges of the studs.

  • Patent number: 8276323
