Integral Relief Of Face Patents (Class 52/316)
  • Patent number: 4135341
Abstract: There is provided a roll-on type ceiling material that has a monolithic appearance free from batten strips, rosettes, or plastic inserts. A base surface is applied and this is covered by a flexible, decorative sheet to form the ceiling covering.

  • Patent number: 4107896
Abstract: A panel made of sheet metal, synthetic resin, or the like and adapted to be mounted shingle-fashion with a plurality of other such panels to an upright wall is of generally rectangular shape with upper and lower end edges and lateral side edges. Between these edges the panel has when mounted a horizontal bend subdividing it into an upper half and a lower half. In the upper half the panel has an upper central substantially planar region which is surrounded by an upper downwardly U-shaped non-planar attachment portion by means of which the entire panel is secured to the upright wall. The lower half has a lower central substantially planar region which is contiguous at the bend with the upper planar region and generally coplanar therewith in a relaxed unmounted condition of the panel.

  • Patent number: 4097100
Abstract: The invention disclosed relates to raised or lowered panel assemblies, such as raised panel doors, as employed in cabinets and furniture. The frame is constructed of pre-shaped molding having an inner section of reverse taper and an integral thicker outer section. The frame is comprised of four pieces of molding assembled as stiles and rails of the door and joined at mitered corners. The molding is rabbeted along the inner edge and receives a flat center panel formed with a projecting tongue or groove and lip.The molding and center panel are preferably formed having a core composite of wood composition or chip board. The core is wrapped or covered with a surface layer of a plastic, preferably thermosetting, material which simulates a wood veneer.

  • Patent number: 4083160
Abstract: Structural and decorative unitary boards which may be laminated with a veneer are given a relief appearance by forming a rabbeted groove in the front face thereof, preferably rectangular in outline, and mounting therein from the front, tapered laminated strips having a thickness along one edge slightly less than the depth of the groove and the opposite narrow edge being substantially flush with the base of the groove. The entire panel thus presents a relief configuration in which substantially all of the exposed surfaces may be covered by the veneer. The panels may be used for doors used in kitchen cabinets, bathroom vanities and the like.

  • Patent number: 4070843
Abstract: A simulated shingle arrangement having novel interlocking connections between adjacent shingles in the same course as well as between adjacent shingles in adjacent courses is provided. The arrangement can comprise individual shingles each having the novel interlocking connecting means as an integral part thereof, but preferably comprises elongated panels each simulating a plurality of individual shingles in side-by-side relation. As in the case of individual shingles, the novel interlocking connecting means forms an integral part of such elongated multi-shingle panels. The outer surface of the shingles can simulate the appearance of conventional shingles, such as cedar shakes, as desired.

  • Patent number: 4040213
Abstract: A unitary structural panel for ceiling and wall installations has a dimensional stability and structural strength to be edge supported as a unit without sagging or warping, a high impact resistance, a good fire rating and easy washability. It comprises a relatively thick fabricated panel which of itself may be subject to sagging or warping or impact damage or fire damage or soil damage, and a relatively thin and flexible laminated facing for the fabricated panel. The thin and flexible laminated facing includes a metallic film, a glass fiber scrim and a synthetic plastic film adhesively secured together with the scrim between and bonded to the metallic film and the synthetic plastic film and with the metallic film bonded to the synthetic plastic film within the openings in the scrim. The laminated facing is adhesively secured to the fabricated panel with the metallic film thereof bonded to a face of the fabricated panel and with the synthetic plastic film thereof exposed.

  • Patent number: 4033082
Abstract: A plate block includes a decorative plate which includes a substratum and a face veneer joined to the substratum by adhesive means. The substratum has a front face and a rear face with inclined edge portions disposed between the front face and the rear face such that the rear face is larger than the front face. The face veneer is joined to the front face and to the edge portions. A base plate is disposed in spaced parallel relationship relative to the decorative plate, and an intermediate member is disposed between the base plate and the decorative plate with the base plate having at least one edge portion projecting beyond an edge of the decorative plate to facilitate assembly of a plurality of plate blocks in juxtaposed array.

  • Patent number: 4008551
Abstract: Structural and decorative boards laminated with a hard plastic veneer are given a relief appearance by forming a rabbeted groove, preferably rectangular in outline, and mounting therein tapered laminated strips having a thickness along one edge substantially corresponding to the depth of the groove and along the opposite narrow edge being substantially flush with the base of the groove. The entire panel thus presents a relief configuration while the exposed surfaces are covered by the plastic veneer. The panels may be used for doors used in kitchen cabinets, bathroom vanities and the like.
