The lath furring strip has portions of the mounting leg height not exceeding 0.365 inches for proper plastering of a wall. The lath furring strip is integrated into other architectural structures such as reveals, expansion joints and window flange coverings. By integrating these structures with a lath furring strip having water proofing features, there is increased water proofing of the entire architectural structure. One or more moisture barriers can easily be applied to the wall or furring strips that prevents seepage of moisture from the stucco on the lath to a wall or framing. By using an improved lath furring strip, fewer penetrations are needed to secure the furring strip to a wall compared to securing a lath directly to a wall.

Abstract: Novel support beams useful in the construction of concrete slopes are provided. The support beams include a straight body section having a support extension attached at one or both ends of the body section. During construction of a concrete slope, the body section of a support beam maintains an angled position substantially equal to the desired angle of the concrete slope being constructed. The support beams can withstand the weight of the concrete slope during construction and can be removed and reused after the concrete has attained sufficient strength for the concrete slope to be self-supporting. Support beams can be attached in series to provide a long structure supporting the construction of larger concrete slopes.

Abstract: The invention provides a rivet and method of installing the rivet to attach honeycomb material to other materials. The rivet is installed by drilling a hole through the materials. A back side sleeve of the rivet is inserted through one end of the hole while a front side sleeve with a stem member inserted therethrough is inserted through the other end of the hole such that the head of the stem member and the sleeve portion of the front sleeve are positioned within the sleeve portion of the back sleeve. The shank portion of the stem member is then pulled such that the head of the stem member expands the sleeve portions of the front and back sleeves into the materials to attach the rivet to the materials. A locking collar is also provided to lock the stem member to the front sleeve upon continued pulling of the stem member.

Abstract: An improved joint edge assembly, of the type used in the construction of concrete slabs, is disclosed. The assembly comprises a longitudinal joint rail, preferably of steel, which is supported off the ground by temporary formwork. The joint rail is secured to the formwork by mounting brackets. The joint rail comprises first and second joint edge members that are connected to each other by connectors with self-release elements. A plurality of studs extends downward and outward from each of the joint edge members into the concrete slabs provide a positive mechanical connection between the slab and the joint rail. As the concrete shrinks during hardening, the self-release elements of the connectors allow the joint to freely open. The joint edge assembly thus provides a self-releasing expandable joint between adjacent slab sections, and protects the edges of the adjacent slab sections from damage. A dowel aligner may also be integrated into the assembly, to allow proper positioning of dowels within the slab.

Abstract: The invention relates to a reinforcement device for fastening, in this context, tremendous loads to particularly weaker walls of the type wallboard coated stud frame, and to contribute to the ability of walls to resist horizontal forces. The reinforcement device comprises portions, which connect and reinforce the parts of the wall construction. Thus, exceeding a materials tensile strength can be avoided, and the forces are distributed over a larger area, wherein the resistibility thereof can be summarised to a larger resistance. In a certain embodiment the reinforcement device can be used for fastening in solid constructions, such as light concrete and hollow brick constructions.
