  • Patent number: 8522501
Abstract: A weldment that is embedded in a concrete slab-type structural member. There is a central plate having a planar, weldable surface and disposed along an outer edge of the concrete slab. A pair of divergingly extending arms extends from the weldable surface and is embedded in the concrete slab. One or both of the extending arms has an irregular upper edge to engage the surrounding concrete. The irregular edge may be a series of v-shaped notches or v-shaped raised portions or any combination forming a saw tooth configuration. A method of manufacturing the weldment in the concrete slab is accomplished by locating the weldment in a mold and fastening a cap around the central plate. The weldment and cap are attached to the mold. After the concrete is poured and hardens into the slab, the cap is removed exposing a clean weldable surface.

Abstract: The wallboard edge clip apparatus provides for the edges of two adjoining collinear wallboards to be joined, without regard to stud location, thereby saving labor and material expense in wallboard use. Where previously wallboard had to be cut to align with a stud or the like, then fastened to the stud or other backing, the present apparatus allows for wallboard length retention, even though no stud or other backing material is immediately present. An adjoining wallboard is then joined immediately adjacent to the first. The apparatus requires no removable devices in installation and does not execute immediate bonding with wallboard. Rather, the apparatus is positioned as needed, whether in wallboard positioned vertically, horizontally, or at an angle, then fastened with existing wallboard fasteners as desired. The apparatus does not require removal after wallboard installation, another time saving feature.

Abstract: A load-bearing member such as a beam, column, girder or post comprises an elongated body defining a rigid structure for bearing a load. A hollow fastener extends through the body from a first side of the body to a second side of the body. The hollow fastener, which may be a hollow bolt, nail, lag screw or threaded shaft, defines a passageway through the load-bearing member for insertion of a cable, wire, tube or pipe. This obviates the need to drill the beam or column, which can compromise its structural integrity.

Abstract: A system of prefabricated modular components, designed to fit and connect together using no tools other than human hands, allowing persons with little or no construction experience to assemble floored/partitioned/roofed structures of variable shape and surface area. Flooring panels are inserted and secured into flooring frames that have been inserted and secured into frame connectors. Flooring frames may be anchored into an outdoor installation surface for long term use. Certain configurations of the frame connector allow for the installation of variable height partition supports, as well as partition panels. A special configuration of the flooring frame allows for wheeled implement/conveyance access to the floored surface from the surrounding surface. Open, unfloored areas may be created within the periphery of a structure. Roof Panels are installed onto and supported by Roof Brackets, Roof Beams and Integrated Gutter Sections. Precipitation is conveyed to Downspout Pipes and Fittings via Downspouts.
