A rigid clip having a flat nailing portion is nailed to the upper face of the edge strip. The clip has a rigid inversely disposed V-shaped portion with a wall extending down along the building which terminates in a lock flange. A facia plate, having a like deformable resilient V-shaped portion terminating in a reversely turned edge bearing on said membrane edge and the clip plate gravel stop surface beneath it, has a latch socket to snap over said lock flange.Type: GrantFiled: April 13, 1987Date of Patent: November 1, 1988Inventor: Charles E. Patent number: 4759157Abstract: An assembly is disclosed for forming a raised roof edge on a building structure that preferably has a generally horizontal roof and a generally vertical outer face. The assembly includes a dam member for forming a water dam or gravel stop, a fascia member, and a separate clip member interposed therebetween for resiliently biasing the fascia member into a relatively tight and rattle-free interlocking installation on the dam member. Preferably, a roofing material is interposed between the clip member and the dam member and is frictionally secured and anchored therebetween as a result of the resilient snap-on engagement of the fascia member on the clip member and the dam member. The roof edge assembly thereby provides an improved water dam or gravel stop structure that securely retains and protects the roofing material on the roof of the building structure.Type: GrantFiled: February 6, 1987Date of Patent: July 26, 1988Assignee: W. P. Hickman CompanyInventors: Russell Webb, John B. Hickman

Patent number: 4685256Abstract: A skirt (7) of finely corrugated sheet of lead is at its top edge assembled in a folded joint with the lower edge of a covering rail (4) mounted on the lower frame portion (3) of a skylight. A plastic and preferably adhesive material strip (8) is incorporated in the joint and is by the pressing together of the joint made to completely fill the corrugations of the skirt edge portion incorporated in the joint to eliminate flatpressing of the corrugations.Type: GrantFiled: March 12, 1986Date of Patent: August 11, 1987Assignee: V. Patent number: 4662129Abstract: An assembly is disclosed for forming a raised roof edge on a building structure that preferably has a generally horizontal roof and a generally vertical outer face. The assembly includes a dam member for forming a water dam or gravel stop, a fascia member, and either a one-piece clamping and flashing member, or separate clamping and flashing members, for biasing and securing the fascia member into a relatively tight and rattle-free interlocking installation on the dam member. Preferably, a roofing material is gripped and held against the dam member as a result of the biasing forces of the clamping member or one-piece clamping and flashing member. The roof edge assembly thereby provides an improved water dam or gravel stop structure that securely retains the roofing material on the roof of the building structure.Type: GrantFiled: February 18, 1986Date of Patent: May 5, 1987Assignee: W. Patent number: 4641476Abstract: An assembly is disclosed for forming a raised roof edge on a building structure that preferably has a generally horizontal roof and a generally vertical outer face. The assembly includes a dam member for forming a water dam or gravel stop, a fascia member, and a separate spring clip member interposed therebetween for resiliently biasing the fascia member into a relatively tight and rattle-free interlocking installation on the dam member. Preferably, a roofing material is interposed between the spring clip member and the dam member and is frictionally secured and anchored therebetween as a result of the resilient biasing forces of the resilient spring clip member. The roof edge assembly thereby provides an improved water dam or gravel stop structure that securely retains the roofing material on the roof of the building structure.Type: GrantFiled: May 13, 1985Date of Patent: February 10, 1987Assignee: W. Patent number: 4635409Abstract: The present invention provides a pitch pan with just two J-shaped sections. The long leg of one J-shaped section is aligned with the short leg of the other J-shaped section, and vice versa; and the legs of the two J-shaped sections are provided with positioning surfaces which permit the long and short legs of the J-shaped sections to be shifted relative to each other to define adjustable-length walls at opposite sides of a filler-receiving recess. That two-section pitch pan is covered with water-impervious skirting before it is delivered to the job site. All an installer need do is to align the two sections of that pitch pan, secure them to each other and to the roof with fasteners, use a cement or adhesive to seal the skirting of those sections to the roof, use a cement or adhesive to seal an overskirt in position at each of the two sides of the pitch pan where the skirtings of the two sections confront each other, and then fill the filler-receiving recess defined by that pitch pan.Type: GrantFiled: September 17, 1985Date of Patent: January 13, 1987Assignee: Lucas Sales Company, Inc.Inventor: William J.
