  • Patent number: 11629493
Abstract: This invention relates to prefabricated, lightweight, multi-component structural modular building panels and modular building systems. The said panels are framed with edge members that have a unique connecting shape, making them modular. The multi-component panel allows for design flexibility and the mass manufacturing of its components. Connectors serve as a link to assemble the panels together, and to connect them to corners, floors or foundations, roof panels and the roof apex member, and or other conventional construction elements. Connectors and members, all with unique connecting shapes, coupled with the said panels, create a structural wall, roof, similar structure or building system. Assembled panels and members incorporate the primary building structure and the building envelope. The assembled panels, members and other components of the building system, in part or whole, can be flat packed for easy transport and shipping, and can be assembled quickly and easily with semi-skilled labor.

Abstract: The secure modular shelter apparatus can be used to shelter those at bus stops, on campuses, using ATM's, waiting for trains, making calls, smoking, and for a host of other uses. Importantly, the apparatus is self-contained and can be placed as chosen, by a forklift for example, and either connected to existing power as an alternative energy source or used as is while providing its own power. Security may be guaranteed by entry only allowed by card or other secure personal identification means known in the art. Radiant assisted heating and cooling are provided. Information readout is provided by a lighted panel that may also feature scrolling schedule lights. A panic button and receiver/transmitter are also provided so that emergency communication with professionals is possible when needed. Audio and auxiliary lighting are provided for those with sight and hearing hardships. Automatic interior climate controls provide for thermostatically controlled comfort.

Abstract: Synclastic hollow core building panels are employed to form dome-like structures. The synclastic curve allows the panels to be lightweight, yet capable of carrying the weight of the structural loads. When combined, the panels create a sphere or a section of a sphere for enclosing space, with optional egress, skylight, and foundation portals incorporated into the structure without disturbing the spherical curvature of the interior or exterior surfaces. The spheres or sphere sections require no additional framing; the panels themselves are the frame. Workers with only the basic assembly skills can construct a sphere or sphere sections using these panels.

Abstract: Disclosed are various building facade surface configurations and related methods. An exemplary facade includes grooved cavities that are configured in a manner that reflects summer (cooling season) insolation and absorbs winter (heating season) insolation. The effective absorptivities of the exemplary facade for various cavity reflectance characteristics, i.e., a wide range of diffuse and specular reflectance characteristics, are evaluated using a Monte Carlo model. The calculations in an illustrated embodiment are performed for the latitude of 41° N where both heating and cooling loads are significant. Embodiments of facades and other structures are similarly within the scope of the disclosure for locations of different latitudes and longitudes.

Abstract: The present invention provides a layer-by-layer double-hoop sunflower-shaped cable dome structure and its construction method. A cycle of jack posts of an elevation forms a layer that comprises several units with same geometric characters and of same quantity except of the top layer. The units are arranged with same space on each layer. The upper end and the lower end of the jack post of each unit are installed with an upper cable bar node and a lower cable bar node respectively. The upper cable bar node is connected with two upper stayed cables of the present layer at one side, two upper stayed cables of the layer above and two lower stayed cables of the layer above at another side and an upper hoop cable going through the middle of the upper cable bar node. The lower cable bar node of the present layer at the same side of the upper stayed cables is connected with two lower stayed cables of the present layer and a lower hoop cable going through the middle of the lower cable bar node.
