Abstract: Mixture consisting of an organo-tin alcoholate of the formula (I) ##STR1## and of an organo-tin mercaptide of the formula (II) or (III) ##STR2## which mixture may additionally contain an organo tin carboxylate of the formula (IV) or (V) ##STR3## in which formulae R.sup.1 is C.sub.1 -C.sub.12 alkyl, R.sup.2 is C.sub.10 -C.sub.30 alkyl, phenyl which is substituted by one or two C.sub.8 -C.sub.12 alkyl groups, R.sup.3 has the meaning assigned to R.sup.2 or is the --Sn(OR.sup.2)(R.sup.1).sub.2 group, wherein R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 are as defined above, X is sulfur or oxygen, R.sup.4 is the --S--CH.sub.2 CH.sub.2 --COOR.sup.5 or --X--Sn(R.sup.1).sub.n (S--CH.sub.2 CH.sub.2 --COOR.sup.5).sub.3-n group, in which R.sup.1 and X are as defined above, R.sup.5 is C.sub.8 -C.sub.14 alkyl, n is 1 or 2, and R.sup.6 is c.sub.10 -C.sub.30 alkyl, the weight ratio of I:II or I:III being in the range from 9:1 to 1:9. These mixtures are stabilizers for chlorinated polymers and also activators for the manufacture of foamed plastics.

Abstract: Compositions comprising an organotin mercaptide, organotin sulfide, organotin carboxylate or mixtures thereof and a diester of an ethylenically unsaturated dicarboxylic acid having one carboxyl group on each carbon atom of the ethenylene group are useful for stabilizing halogen-containing organic polymers against the deteriorative effects of heat, light and weathering.

Abstract: This invention relates to stabilizer compositions for polymers comprising (1) an organotin compound, or mixture of organotin compounds, (2) a mercaptan-containing organic compound or mixture of mercaptan-containing organic compounds, and, optionally, (3) a halogen-containing tin compound or mixture of halogen-containing tin compounds, said stabilizers having a total halogen content of about 0.1% to about 10% by weight based on the weight of the stabilizer composition. This invention also relates to polymer compositions containing said stabilizers, to a process for stabilizing polymer by adding thereto said stabilizers, and to articles of manufacture, e.g. pipe, comprising a polymer and said stabilizers.

Abstract: Compositions which are effective in stabilizing polymers against the deteriorative effects of heat are provided comprising (1) an organic antimony compound or mixture of organic antimony compounds, (2) a mercaptan-containing organic compound or mixture of mercaptan-containing organic compounds, and (3) a metal mercaptoalcohol or mixture of metal mercaptoalcohols. Also provided are polymer compositions containing said stabilizers, a process for stabilizing polymers, and articles of manufacture made from stabilized polymer compositions.

Abstract: A process for the sterilization of objects made of polymers in which the molecule contains a halogen, or of products packaged in such polymer material, the polymer containing a heat stabilizer wherein, prior to irradiation of the object or the package and its contents, there is incorporated into the polymer one or more esters carrying at least one mercaptan function in the proportion of one --SH group for 3 to 10 carbon atoms.

Abstract: A solid composition, suitable for stabilizing a halogen-containing polymer, consisting essentially of (a) 16.7 to 50% by weight of a liquid sulfur-containing organotin stabilizer, in intimate admixture with (b) 83.3 to 50% by weight of a solid lubricant, having a melting point of 50.degree. to 120.degree. C., selected from the group consisting of paraffin wax, montan wax, oxidized paraffin wax, oxidized polyethylene wax, oxidized and partially saponified polyethylene wax and mixtures thereof.

Abstract: An improved conductive molding composition for the preparation of high density capacitance electronic discs is disclosed. The disclosed compositions are improved by the replacement of most or all of the conventionally used stabilizer ingredient with a tin mercapto ester or alkyl mercaptide represented by the formulae ##STR1## wherein R is a straight-chain alkyl radical having 4 to 8 carbon atoms; R.sub.1 is selected from --S-CH.sub.2 -COOR.sub.3 and --S-R.sub.3 ;R.sub.2 is R or R.sub.1 ; andR.sub.3 is a straight-chain alkyl radical having from 8 to 18 carbon atoms.

Abstract: The resistance to deterioration of polyvinyl chloride resins when heated and worked is improved by combinations of polyvinyl chloride resin stabilizers and alpha-olefin oligomers obtained by oligomerization of a 1-olefin having from six to about twelve carbon atoms, and having a highly branched chain with alkyl substituents of at least two carbon atoms.

Abstract: Monoalkyl tin derivatives of mercaptoacetic acid esters, such as mono-n-octyltin-S,S', S"-tris(isooctyl mercaptoacetate), are useful as food-grade stabilizers for vinyl halide polymers.

Abstract: Compositions which are useful as stabilizers for halogen containing polymers are provided comprising (1) at least one alkyltin mercaptide, (2) at least one zinc mercaptoester, and (3) at least one basic alkali or alkaline earth metal compound. Also provided are polymer compositions containing these stabilizers.

Abstract: A resin stabilizer composition which essentially contains:(a) an organotin sulfur-containing compound, for example, organotin mercaptides, organotin mercaptoacids, organotin mercaptoacid esters, organotin sulfides, organothiostannoic acids and the like, and(b) a metal compound from one of the groups of(1) an alkali metal bisulfite, carbonate, hydroxide, oxide, thiocarbonate bicarbonate, or metabisulfite, and(2) an alkaline earth metal oxide or hydroxide.These compositions remarkably contribute to the long term heat stability of vinyl halide resins. Furthermore, among other advantages, significant economies and synergistic resin heat stabilization are offered by these stabilizer compositions.

Abstract: New organostannic stabilizers for vinyl halide resins, and particularly for polyvinylchloride. These compounds can be obtained by the reaction of organostannic trihalides with mercapto alkyl esters and they can be used alone or in combination with other known stabilizers.
