A process for producing coagulated latex particles which can suppress the secondary coagulation under the condition having the broad temperature range, without deteriorating the original quality of the polymer itself by spraying or dropping a polymer latex into a gas-phase containing an inorganic salt and/or an acid, and a dispersant in an aerosol form, and dropping or feeding the droplets of the polymer latex into an aqueous phase containing a dispersant.

Abstract: Disclosed is an organic phase change carrier and a method for forming same, and a phase change ink including same. The organic phase change carrier comprises a colloidal dispersion of nanoparticles exhibiting a substantially uniform distribution of said nanoparticles discretely distributed therewithin, at least one curable monomer; a phase change inducing component, and an initiator. The organic phase change carrier exhibits a substantially uniform distribution of the nanoparticles so that they are discretely distributed therewithin, and are substantially resistant to the aggregation of the nanoparticles distributed therewithin.

  • Patent number: 7563838
Abstract: Phase change solvents for thermoplastic polymers to provide blended compositions. Above the phase change temperature of the solvent, the phase change solvent solubilizes or intimately mixes with the thermoplastic polymer. Below the phase change temperature of the solvent, the phase change solvent solidifies or crystallizes within the thermoplastic matrix. The phase change behavior of these materials produce blended compositions that exhibit lowered shear viscosity and lowered processing temperature without substantially compromising mechanical properties of the thermoplastic polymer, such as hardness. The present invention also relates to a method of improving the processability of a thermoplastic polymer using the phase change solvent.

Abstract: Pulverulent polycondensation products are described, consisting of a) 5 to 95% by weight of a polycondensation product based on an aromatic or heteroaromatic compound (A) having 5 to 10 C atoms or heteroatoms having at least one oxyethylene or oxypropylene radical and one aldehyde (C) selected from the group consisting of formaldehyde, glyoxylic acid and benzaldehyde or mixtures thereof, and b) 5 to 95% by weight of a finely divided mineral carrier material having a specific surface area of 0.5 to 500 m2/g (according to BET as specified in DIN 66 131). The pulverulent polycondensation products according to the invention are outstandingly suitable in construction material mixtures in an amount of from 0.1 to 5% by weight, based on the weight of the construction material. The pulverulent polycondensation products have a number of advantages here, such as, for example, excellent storage stability, good liquefying action at low dosage and industrially simple production.

  • Patent number: 7468411
Abstract: Novel elastomeric compositions which contain at least one thermoplastic elastomer and at least one phase change solvent and at least one processing oil. The presence of particular processing oils, e.g., poly(alphaolefins), provide a means to increase mechanical properties compared to commercially available mineral oils. The oils of the present invention are chosen as to minimize the depression of glass transition temperature of the hard-block of the thermoplastic elastomer. The phase change behavior of these materials produce elastomeric compositions that exhibit lowered viscosity and lowered processing temperature without substantially compromising the mechanical properties of the elastomeric composition.
