Abstract: An assay test device, suitable for use as a home pregnancy test kit, comprises a casing and two test panels mounted to an elongate arm. The test panels are held within the casing for storage. Manual operation of a slider causes the test panels to project outwardly from an end of the casing, so that a liquid test sample may be administered to the panels. The panels are then withdrawn into the casing, which has a window allowing the test panels to be observed while the test reaction (typically an ELISA test) takes place. Indicia may be applied to reveal messages when a test panel changes color. Abstract: Disclosed herein is a new use for water-stable, oil-modified, nonreactive alkyd resins. It has now been found that such resins can be used as the predominant component of a construction adhesive employed in the manufacture of disposable absorbent articles, for example. As such, the construction adhesive need not employ plasticizers, tackifiers, and conventional polymers required by hot-melt adhesives typically used as construction adhesives. Furthermore, in the manufacture of disposable absorbent articles, the construction adhesive containing a water-stable, oil-modified, nonreactive, alkyd resin does not need to be processed or applied at the high temperatures required of construction adhesives containing reactive alkyds.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a resin composition for pavement which comprises at least an ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer having a vinyl acetate content of 25 to 45% by weight, a melting temperature of 40 to 100° C. and a melt flow rate of not less than 400 g/10 min, a petroleum-based process oil having an aromatic ring-derived carbon content (CA) of 20 to 40%, and a teleblock polymer. The resin composition for pavement according to the present invention can be melted for a short period of time, and is excellent in wettability and adhesion to an aggregate, and can provide a paved surface having an excellent durability which is free from problems such as deformation in the summer season and occurrence of cracks in the winter season.

  • Patent number: 8445025
Abstract: Disclosed are the nanoparticle and the method for the same, and the preparing method includes steps of mixing polyethylenimine (PEI) with the poly(acrylic acid)-bound iron oxide (PAAIO) to form a PEI-PAAIO polyelectrolyte complex (PEC) and mixing the PEI-PAAIO PEC with genetic material such as plasmid DNA to form the PEI-PAAIO/pDNA magnetic nanoparticle. The PEI-PAAIO/pDNA magnetoplex is highly water dispersible and suitable for long term storage, shows superparamagnetism, low cytotoxicity, high stability and nice transfection efficiency, and thus the PEI-PAAIO PEC can replace PEI as a non-viral gene vector.
