Chain degradation of the polyolefins is induced by the free radical formation to form degraded polymer. Alkenically unsaturated monomers or polymer segments are mixed with the degraded polymer to form a second mixture. The temperature of the second mixture is then adjusted to a temperature between 100° C. to 250° C. to form a novel block polymer or copolymer.
