Abstract: The present invention teaches a method for enabling the formation of a high damping, soft polymer gel. The method includes: reacting a poly(alkyl vinylether-co-maleimide) polymer with a maleated polyalkylene and an alkyl diamine under substantially dry conditions sufficient to form a polyalkylene grafted poly(alkyl vinylether-co-maleimide) polymer product; and, dispersing the polyalkylene grafted poly(alkyl vinylether-co-maleimide) polymer product with an extender oil sufficient to form the gel. The present invention also contemplates a polymer gel composition, a polymer composition and an article manufactured from the polymer gel composition.

Abstract: A polymer contains a succinimide ring substituted on the nitrogen atom by a reactive group, where the ring is supported either by the main chain or by a side chain, the polymer resulting from reacting at least one polyolefin with at least one compound containing a maleimide ring substituted on the nitrogen atom by a reactive group with formula —R—(X)n where X is a reactive group, n is a whole positive number equal to 1 or more and R is a residue containing at least one carbon atom. These polymers can be used for the production of co-extruded products, multi-layered materials, surface coatings and polymer alloys.

Abstract: A radiation absorbing polymer is characterized by having a main chain copolymer containing recurring units of dicarboxylic acid or carboxylic anhydride group with an organic chromophore bonded to the carboxyl group through methylene or alkylene linkage group, where the organic chromophore is bonded to the carboxyl group by esterification reaction. Residual carboxyl groups of the radiation absorbing polymer can optionally be amidized and/or imidized with an aromatic compounds having a reactive amino group. When the photoresist is applied on the antireflective coating and is exposed by radiation such as deep ultraviolet radiation, a resist pattern with high resolving power is formed, which is not affected by standing wave upon manufacturing integrated circuit elements.

Abstract: Concentrated and low viscosity aqueous dispersions, e.g., opaque emulsions, well suited as flocculants for water treatment, comprise the water-soluble polymerizate of at least one water-soluble hydrophilic monomer A, optionally, at least one amphiphilic comonomer B and/or, also optionally, at least one hydrophobic comonomer C, in the presence of at least one polymeric dispersant incompatible therewith, for example an imidized and salified styrene/maleic anhydride copolymer or poly(diallyldimethylammonium chloride).
