Additional Monomer Contains An Ether Group Patents (Class 526/329.6)
  • Patent number: 6316569
Abstract: The objects of the present invention are: a self-light-stabilized photochromic thermoplastic or thermoreticulated polymer carrying non-cyclic tertiary amide-functionalized pendant groups; its preparation method; photochromic articles constituted, wholly or in part of such a polymer. Said polymer is obtained advantageously by radical co-polymerization of a composition containing an effective amount of at least one monomer of the formula: in which: R1 is hydrogen or a methyl group; n is 2 or 3; R2 and R3 are identical or different and represent independently a methyl or ethyl group; and are advantageously identical; said monomer providing said photostabilizing non-cyclic tertiary amine-functionalized pendant groups.

  • Patent number: 6262214
Abstract: A copolymer having low birefringence substantially consisting of a repeating unit represented by the following general formula (1) and a repeating unit of a (meth)acrylate: wherein, R1 represents a hydrogen atom or a hydrocarbon group having 1 to 25 carbon atoms, an alicyclic hydrocarbon group or a substituted hydrocarbon group.). This copolymer has low birefringence and low hydrophilia, is excellent in transparency, heat-resistance and mechanical strength, and can be applied to lenses, optical disks, optical fibers and the like.

  • Patent number: 6239241
Abstract: The present invention is directed to a copolymer for use in a concrete admixture which improves the workability of hydraulic compositions such as cement paste, mortar, concrete and the like. Namely, the admixture effectively reduces the viscosity of the hydraulic compositions under shear without causing setting retardation of the compositions.

  • Patent number: 6231714
Abstract: Curable compositions include at least one monomer compound having both (meth)acrylic ester functionality and an allylic phenyl ether functional group on the same molecule, the allylic phenyl ether functional group having at least one unsubstituted position on the phenyl ring which is ortho or para to the allylic ether group, and a free radical catalyst system. The composition may also includes a latent thermally activated acid generator. Claisen Rearrangement of radically polymerized polymers produced from the compositions may be induced at temperatures of about 100° C. or more to give crosslinked products of improved thermal resistance.
