    Abstract: The present invention pertains to a primer composition having a volatile organic content (V.O.C.) less than about 1.5. A pigmented or clear topcoat may be applied over this primer composition. The primer composition includes a substantially solvent-free urethane dispersion and a substantially solvent-free acrylic. The solvent-free urethane component and the solvent-free acrylic component could contain as much as 15 weight percent of a solvent as long as the combined solvent content of these two components is such that the V.O.C. of the resulting primer is less than about 1.5. The amount of the solvent-free urethane component present in the low V.O.C. primer prepared in accordance with the present invention ranges from between about 10 to about 90 weight percent, while the amount of the solvent-free acrylic component ranges from between about 90 to about 10 weight percent. The solvent-free urethane component has a tensile strength which ranges from between about 4,000 to about 9,000 psi.

C. To produce the moldings, the molding compound is melted at temperatures of 70.degree. to 200.degree. C., the melt is injected into closed molds under an excess pressure of 1 to 50 bar, the cooled moldings are removed from the mold after a short time and are then cured with atmospheric moisture. Economic and technical advantages include distinctly lower processing pressures, expense on machinery and tooling and firm adhesion to various substrates. The moldings are heat-resistant and adhere to various substrates. They are particularly suitable for the production of electrical components.

    Abstract: The present invention relates to blocked polyisocyanates containing at least two isocyanate groups which are reversibly blocked with a monofunctional blocking agent for isocyanate groups and at least two isocyanate groups in the form of urea groups, which may be subsequently converted to thermally stable hydantoin groups. The present invention also relates to one-component coating compositions containing these blocked polyisocyanates and compounds containing at least two isocyanate-reactive groups.

The polyurethanes, which are optionally radiation curable, show high affinity for magnetic pigments, and blends of the polyurethanes with vinyl resins afford excellent binders for magnetic recording media.

Each of the trimellitic anhydride and the bisanhydride of trimellitic anhydride constitutes 1 to 40%, on a molar basis, of the monomer composition and the amount of the diisocyanate is about 1.0 to 1.2 times, also on a molar basis, the sum of the trimellitic anhydride and the bis-anhydride of trimellitic anhydride. In an alternate embodiment, a fourth component (d) diacid such as isophthalic acid can be added to the monomer composition. After the polymerization reaction, the poly(amide-imide-ester) resin so produced can be diluted with a variety of organic solvents, such as xylene and dimethylacetamide, etc.
