Abstract: A device for closing a chamber of a container having an opening for accessing the chamber comprises a plunger, a plunger seat, a container carrier and a spacer. The plunger seat releasably holds the plunger in a predefined alignment. The container carrier is arranged to be connected to the container in a predefined position and alignment in relation to the opening of the container. The spacer is arranged to position and align the plunger seat adjacent to and distant from the container carrier such that the opening of the container is open when the container is connected to the container carrier.

Abstract: A capping device for capping vials borne by a respective conveyor (101), with caps (3) which include an inserting portion (31), shaped for insertion into a mouth of the vial (2) and a head portion (32), which remains externally on the vial (2) after capping. The capping device (1) includes a pick-up zone (12) configured for supporting and containing the caps (3) to be picked up by contacting only the head portion (32) thereof, a conveyor (11) for supplying caps (3) to the pick-up zone (12), configured to carry the caps (3) by contacting only a head portion (32) thereof; and a pick-up and inserting device (13) configured and activatable for picking up at least one cap (3) at a time from the pick-up zone (12), contacting only the head portion (31), and for holding the cap only by the head portion (302) while transporting the cap to a respective vial (2), and then inserting at least a part of the inserting portion (301) into the mouth of the vial (2).
Abstract: The present invention is directed to a cap supply device having a simple and inexpensive structure and which is capable of supplying caps all directed in the same direction. The cap supply device includes: a receiving section 104 for receiving the caps 3; and a discharge unit 106 having an endless member 108 placed in the receiving section 104 and support members 109 provided at the endless member. The discharge unit 106 is configured to lift the caps upward and discharge the caps 3 from the receiving section 104 while the caps 3 are supported at the support members 109 with their openings directed to an opposite side of the endless member 108.
Abstract: A closer for pressing a lid onto a container includes a presser foot mounted for reciprocating movement into and out of force applying engagement with the lid; an actuator moveable between retracted and extended positions; and a force multiplying assembly disposed in operative relationship intermediate the presser foot and the actuator for multiplying an input force from the actuator to a predetermined maximum lid pressing force at the extended position.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for venting a filled bottle closed by a stopper is disclosed. The venting is designed to equalize the pressure between the interior of the bottle and the atmosphere such that the stopper inserted into the filled bottle is not forced out of the bottle by excess pressure in the bottle. The venting may be accomplished by deforming the stopper in the bottle opening to form an air-outlet opening in the region sealed by the stopper and the bottle. The venting may be implemented by a squeezing device arranged on at least one side of the stopper, the squeezing device being active in a direction perpendicular to the central axis of the bottle opening.
Abstract: The invention falls within the sector of bottling plants. In a method for capping containers (2) with crown caps, the step of centering the cap is performed without the container (2), the cap being completely free to arrange itself in position on a movable magnetic element (4). The capping machine has capping means (7, 11) which are eccentric with respect to the capping axis (20) and positioned at a higher level than the zone for capping the container (2).
Abstract: An apparatus for producing packages having a heating device for heating a bottom sheeting strip, a forming device, a filling device, a sealing device for sealing on a top strip, and a cutting device for separating the packages. For forming downward-drawn rims on the packages that make them easy to drink from, additional recesses are embodied in the forming device, and the bottom sheeting strip is pressed by means of protrusions into recesses disposed on the upper part of the forming device. The cutting device also has a stamping knife, which cuts the package out of the foil composite in the region of the downward-drawn rim.
Abstract: Methods for packaging a pressure or vacuum sensitive product, such as an ultrasound contrast media comprised of a gas-filled microshpere or microbubble, or sealing such a product in a single-compartment syringe, in a manner that does not utilize pressure or vacuum in the process, are provided.
Abstract: The invention's application is suited in particular to the lubricated turning pairs of crawler tracks. It makes provision for the sealing of the lubricant reservoir by means of an elastomer plug, and for the introduction of a needle into and through the plug. The needle serves to effect evacuation of any existing air from within the reservoir, and the subsequent introduction of lubricating oil. The needle is then withdrawn from the plug which, by virtue of the elastic properties of the elastomer, automatically re-encloses the puncture produced by the needle.

Abstract: A heatable sealing head includes resilient, yielding cup springs which transmit pressure and heat to a thin cover insertable between the sealing head and the container rim. This cover, which may be metallic and is coated on the underside with a thermoplastic material, is thereby deformed about portions of the container rim. The cup springs are disposed conically in their relaxed state so that their radially outer portions are situated closer to the cover than their radially inner portions, by which they are fixed to the sealing head. For increasing the flexibility of the cup springs, a spacer piece is inserted between an outer cup spring facing the cover and at least one cup spring nearer the sealing head in order to keep the radially inner portions of these two cup springs spaced from one another while leaving a clearance space between the radially outer portions of the spaced cup springs.
Abstract: The present invention relates to a cork mounting apparatus for bottles which comprises two head parts, one lower part, and one upper part. The invention stands out from earlier well-known apparatus in that the upper part which includes a piston has an outer tube which is arranged around an outer wall of the lower part. Accordingly, the piston will therefore go straight up and down in a socket connected to the lower part. The lower part is also provided with a tube which extends down around the bottle-neck. The lower part tube eliminates wobbling of the bottle during the cork mounting operation. The apparatus is also useful for mounting capsules and foils on bottles. Also, with an extra fitting, the apparatus may be used as a corkscrew. The upper part may furthermore be used separately as a "doughy-free" closing plug for bottles.
