The containment skin is made of a water resistant material and the bulk density of the contents of the containment skin is greater than 1 g/cm3. The resistance ball is substantially spherical, ovoid or tubular in shape.

Abstract: A drinking straw comprises a thermoplastic tube and an active ingredient in the tube, releasable in a liquid drawn through the tube. The active ingredient is held in place between branched portions of the straw defined by neighbouring recesses formed in the tube and an inner seam connecting the neighbouring recesses. The branched portions are spaced from the ends of the straw. A device and method for making the drinking straw are disclosed as well.

Abstract: A lip balm applicator product comprises upper and lower portions that are connectable together to define the applicator product being of a substantially spherical shape. A support platform is located in the lower portion and accommodates a quantity of lip balm having an arcuate surface. A lip balm comprises a composition of waxes and oils in solid form and formed to have an arcuate surface. The composition is formed to have the arcuate surface using a hot pour process. A method of manufacturing a lip balm comprises providing a receptacle having a concave arcuate surface. A lip balm material in a heated, liquefied phase is poured into the receptacle. Once poured, the heated, liquefied phase is allowed to solidify such that a surface of the solidified lip balm material has an arcuate configuration that corresponds to the concave arcuate surface of the receptacle.

Abstract: A method for filling a cavity, of a packaging, particularly a blister packaging, with a liquid and a packaging suitable for this purpose are proposed. The cavity is completely filled with the liquid by an acceleration force or by continuous throughflow.

Abstract: A container comprises a basket having a basket lip and a lid with lid lip connected to a tear strip, the tear strip being bonded to the basket lip to form a seal. An applied force to the seal separates the tear strip from the lid so that the tear strip remains bonded to the basket lip and so that a lid tear surface is exposed. The basket lip includes a basket snap feature and the lid lip includes a lid snap feature. The basket snap feature and the lid snap feature are mateable to resist separation of the lid from the basket.

Abstract: A container for isolating first and second fluids, such as beverage concentrate components, until dispensing is provided, as well as methods of assembly and dispensing. The container can have a body for containing the first fluid and an insert, received at least partially within the body, for containing the second fluid and isolating the first and second fluids. When the valve member is moved to an open position, flow through both the first and second fluid exit paths can occur.

Additionally, a method for producing such packaging and a gable press for use with the aforementioned apparatus. In order to allow easier and more cost-effective production, it is proposed that the apparatus has a gable press, assigned to a single mandrel wheel position, for folding the gable region, for connecting all the gable faces of the gable region of the sleeve to the pouring element and for sealing the protruding ears in the same mandrel wheel position.

The container includes a base element and at least two lateral side elements, and forms a tray element. The tray element defines an open cavity for containing contents, and has a back and front edge. At least one of the lateral side elements has at least one moveable element integrated with, and forming an extension of, the lateral side element at a first fixed end of the moveable element(s). The moveable element(s) is/are capable of being folded into the cavity and around the contents, and is of a length such that the second, free end of the moveable element(s) extend(s) around the contents to the front edge of the tray element. The second free end is capable of being pulled to cause the contents to move towards the front edge of the tray element.

Abstract: A device for handling containers of a collapsible type, including one or more stations and a transport unit. The device is arranged to receive the containers oriented in a first direction and the transport unit is arranged to transport the containers to at least one of the stations by moving the containers in a second direction along a curved path, the second direction being perpendicular to the first direction. The device has a holding device provided for at least one station and located in a stationary position adjacent to the station and a transfer device, which is provided for the at least one station and carried by the transport unit and which is cyclically movable along an endless path between a pick-up position and a delivery position located adjacent to the station. Abstract: A package for a dental material comprises a compartment for holding a first substance of the dental material and an open reservoir at least partially formed by a wall of the package. The package is adapted such that the compartment and the reservoir are connectable for fluid communication. The reservoir accommodates a second substance of the dental material retained at a surface of the reservoir wall. The package preferably enables easy mixing of the dental material from the first and second substance, thus preferably facilitate a preparation and use of the dental material.

The packaging assembly includes a carton having side and bottom walls and an open top. A self-supporting plastic liner fits inside of the carton, and is for containing liquids, viscous material, or particulate material. The liner has a side wall, a closed bottom end, and an open top end having an outwardly-projecting rim. The rim has a radially-extending flange portion, and a dependent skirt portion. When the self-supporting plastic liner is inside of the carton, the dependent skirt portion of the rim hangs over the side walls of the carton. A lidding material is removeably affixed to the rim of the plastic liner. A carton lid closes off the open top of the carton.

For example, the systems described herein may allocate a percentage of inventory to a custom inventory location that is physically near custom container forming devices, thereby reducing the cost to pick, sort, pack and route items for shipment, storing or otherwise handling in a custom container.

A carrying handle makes it possible for a variety of packaging containers to be transported easily. The outer cover of the packaging container may comprise two swing-open hard shells. A further packaging container according to the invention comprises a foldable outer cover and, when the latter is folded, the inner flexible bag can be fastened to the cover by means of the outlet part and, when the cover is unfolded, the inner flexible bag can be separated therefrom and the two can be introduced into different recycling systems.

The component material has a printed graphic which is seen through either the body contacting or garment contacting surfaces. The n graphics of the n absorbent articles are different from each other, and preferably have a predetermined association. In another aspect, a method is directed to printing a graphic on a sheet material which will become a component material for the absorbent articles. In another aspect, a method is directed to producing the absorbent product including the package and the n absorbent articles contained in the package.

Another aspect provides for dispensing a pharmaceutical composition from the delivery apparatus by rupturing the needle hub seal and fluidically connecting the needle and the bladder. Another aspect provides manufacturing the delivery apparatus according to steps including attaching a needle hub and a needle hub seal and combining the bladder and the needle hub, thereby forming an apparatus described herein.

Abstract: A plastic package uses a substrate and an overlay, where both the substrate and the overlay are of materials which can be recycled together, for example polyethylene terephthalate (PET). The plastic used for the overlay may be different from the plastic used for the substrate, provided that the plastics are of the same thermoplastic family, or are of types which are compatible for recycling together. A method of making the package includes the steps of: positioning the product on a vacuum-forming fixture; heating a first layer of thermoplastic, positioning it over the product, and applying a vacuum to the fixture to pull the first layer of thermoplastic onto the product; and thermally bonding the first layer and a second layer of recycling-compatible thermoplastic to each other with the product between them, so as to capture the product. Apparatus having lease two stations is provided to carry out the method and thereby produce the package.

The third section contains printed indicia on one side thereof and a window of the clear poly material on another side thereof. In operation, the sections of the multi-layered media product are separated and a labeled container can be placed in the envelope and the envelope sealed to prevent tampering.

Abstract: A method to prevent gelation of an uncured gelcoat composition during storage is described. The method includes applying a gelation inhibitor to the surface of a gelcoat composition in the container to prevent premature gelation. The gelation inhibitor additionally prevents the formation of a crust on the inner surface of storage container lids.

Abstract: A method for treating containers in which, at a treatment station, the containers are provided on container outer surfaces thereof with a print that including a colorant. The colorant can be dye or ink. The method includes, at a treatment station, processing the colorant by irradiating the containers with non-thermal energy radiation. Processing the colorant includes drying or curing it. The method also includes decontaminating a region of the containers with the same radiation, either by disinfecting or sterilizing it. The region includes either or both a container opening and a container inner surface.

Abstract: A method of treatment, such as treating an estrogen-related disorder or a psychotic disorder, by implanting a reservoir-based drug delivery composition into a subject to systemically deliver a therapeutically effective amount of an active pharmaceutical ingredient (such as an aromatase inhibitor or risperidone) to the subject for a long period of time (e.g., one month or one year). Abstract: A flexible side-gusseted package and methods of making the same are disclosed. The package has a central longitudinal axis, a front panel, a back panel, and a pair of gusseted side panels. The front panel is secured to the gusseted side panels along a pair of side seal lines. The back panel is secured to the gusseted side panels along a pair of side seal lines. Each of the seal lines includes a pair of end portions and an intermediate portion. The intermediate portion, e.g., a concave recessed portion, of each side seal line is located closer to the central longitudinal axis than the end portions of the side seal lines to provide a package which is somewhat necked-down at its middle, to facilitate grasping of the package by users.

Abstract: A process for sequentially forming a plurality of enclosed containers (32) comprising a product, the process involving passing a continuous web (10), comprising a strip of container material having two opposing edges (4, 6), to a folding station (12), whereupon each open container is sequentially formed by folding the web, to bring into contact two contiguous edge portions (9a, 9b) from only one edge of the web, then sealing the two edges together to form a portion of the web into an open container, depositing the product onto the web so that it is held within the open containers, and then sealing the open containers to form the enclosed containers.

Abstract: A method for packaging products including the steps of delivering an initial packaging material to a package assembly line; reshaping the initial packaging material into self-supporting initial packages; packaging the products in these initial packages; delivering second packaging material to the package assembly line and packaging the initial packages, filled with the products, in the second packaging material. The initial packaging material is delivered in the form of strip stock which is converted in the package assembly line into individual package blanks; and reshaped into the initial packages. This makes packaging possible in the shortest possible time, with nevertheless high flexibility.

Abstract: A reclosable package includes a tray, a top sheet, and a fastener. The tray has a well for receiving contents and a peripheral flange surrounding the well. The top sheet is attached to the peripheral flange. The fastener has two interlocking members, one attached to the peripheral flange and the other attached to the top sheet. A tamper-evident feature located on the package prevents access to the fastener and is connected thereto by one or two lines of weaknesses. In one embodiment with one or two lines of weakness in the top sheet, the fastener remains adjacent to the tray's peripheral flange, which is intact after the tamper-evident feature is removed by tearing along these lines of weakness. In a second embodiment with two lines of weakness, the tamper-evident feature, comprised of portions of the peripheral flange and the top sheet, is torn from the package along both lines of weakness.
