  • Patent number: 6492356
Abstract: The present invention relates to acylguanidine derivatives of formula (I) in which R1, R2, R4, R5, R6, A, m and n have the meanings indicated in the patent claims, their physiologically tolerable salts and their prodrugs. The compounds of formula (I) are valuable pharmaceutical active ingredients. They are vitronectin receptor antagonists and inhibitors of bone resorption by osteoclasts and are suitable, for example, for the therapy or prophylaxis of diseases which are caused at least partially by an undesired extend of bone resorption, for example of osteoporosis. The invention furthermore relates to processes for the preparation of compounds of formula (I), their use, in particular as pharmaceutical active ingredients, and pharmaceutical preparations comprising them.

  • Patent number: 6316380
Abstract: This invention provides a catalyst system useful in many coupling reactions, such as Suzuki, Kumada, Heck, and amination reactions. The catalyst system of the present invention makes use of N-heterocyclic carbenes or their protonated salts. The composition of the catalyst system comprises at least one transition metal compound and at least one N-heterocyclic carbene or its protonated salt. This invention further provides novel N-heterocyclic carbenes and their protonated salts. One type of N-heterocyclic carbene used in this invention is an imidazolinc-2-ylidene wherein the 1 and 3 positions are each, independently, substituted by an aromatic group in which each ortho position is, independently, substituted by a secondary or tertiary group which has at least three atoms.
