  • Patent number: 7550021
Abstract: A portable dust collection system for a wood shop or other dust producing environment is employed with a sander, power saw, router or other dust-producing tool such as a woodworking tool. A movable platform has a vertical intake pipe supporting a head portion formed with a shroud. A centrifugal impeller drives the intake air stream plus any entrained particles into one or more cyclonic separators, which deposit the dust in a respective drum supported on the platform beneath the cyclone. The air inlet from the tool enters the vertical pipe at a point partway up the pipe, so that large particles drop to the bottom end of the pipe, where a clean-out door is provided. The exhaust or discharge air from the cyclonic separator(s) passes out through a filter cartridge to the ambient. A deflector plate prevents the dust from eddying back into the separator.

Abstract: A dust collecting filter such as a honeycomb-type industrial filter for the industrial filtering of gas containing solid particles is provided. The filter includes a plurality of collateral inlet and outlet channels separated by shared filtering boundaries. The inlet channels coalesce at both their extremities into opposite inlet plenums, and the outlet channels similarly coalesce into an outlet plenum at at least one of their extremities. The filter is easily cleanable by flow reversal without dead-end accumulation of particles in the inlet channels since they do not have any dead-end.

  • Patent number: 7314496
Abstract: A honeycomb structural body which is capable of increasing the limiting collection amount of particulate, reducing the pressure loss in use, and reducing fluctuations in the pressure loss even if the flow rate from an internal combustion engine of exhaust gases fluctuates. The honeycomb structural body is a columnar honeycomb structural body in which a large number of through holes are arranged side by side in the length direction with a partition wall interposed therebetween. The large number of through holes are constituted by a group of large-capacity through holes, with one end thereof sealed to make the total cross-sectional areas perpendicular to the length direction relatively greater, and a group of small-capacity through holes, with the other end thereof sealed to make the total cross-sectional areas relatively smaller. The honeycomb structural body includes a plurality of columnar porous ceramic members.

  • Patent number: 7314501
Abstract: A method in which all or some of the particles contained in the exhaust gases of a diesel engine are retained on particle filters and burnt due to the action of a combustion catalyst. At least a part of the particle filters are obstructed when the temperature ?g of the exhaust gases for filtration is equal to or less than a threshold temperature ?s, so as to limit or avoid cooling of the obstructed part of the particle filters and to maintain the same at a temperature ?o greater than or equal to ?s up until the time when ?g becomes greater than ?s again and thus permit accelerated regeneration of the obstructed part of the particle filters. Also disclosed is an exhaust gas filtration device which permits the carrying out of the filtration method with continuous and regular regeneration of the particle filters.
