Abstract: The present invention relates to an air cleaner for removing air pollutants from an air stream, for instance such as the cleaning exhaust/intake gas of an amusement machine, said air cleaner comprising a filter device including at least one filter layer (4a, 4b) held by a filter holder (5) in said airflow substantially perpendicular to a main flow direction thereof and including a plurality of preferably stick-shaped filter elements (6) neighbouring each other. In accordance with the present invention, the filter device has no closed surrounding along the circumference of the filter layers, but provides for an open side along at least a portion of the periphery of the filter layer. At least one circumferential side section (7, 8) of the filter layer parallel to or tangential to the longitudinal axis of an outermost filter element is formed as an open side free of flow control elements surrounding the filter layer.

Abstract: A panel filter for removal of contaminants from a gas, the panel filter having at least one V-pocket formed of two halves, each half composed of multiple pleats of filter media. The pleats extend generally parallel, often at an angle of less than 5 degrees or even less than 1 degree, to the overall filtration path, so that air or gas to the filtered passes through the pleats in a generally straight manner, with minimal bends. Each pleat has two legs of different length. The panel filter provides improved dust collection and retention while restricting pressure drop.

Abstract: An air cleaner element includes an element body, which filters an air flow, and a guard member secured to the element body. The air flow is introduced into the element body through a first end surface of the element body. The air flow is then filtered and sent out from a second end surface. The guard member has a leg portion, which is secured to an outer circumferential portion of the first end surface of the element body. The guard member projects toward the upstream side of the air flow and includes guard portions which are connected together at the distal ends of the guard portions. The guard portions function as a handle when the element body is removed or installed and as a blockage portion that prevents large-sized foreign matter from entering the element body.

Abstract: A pollution control device that provides an external air filtration system for pollutants and other undesirable materials. The system includes a pipe which is attached to the external wall of a building and which provides water to each of the filtration units. An air flow chute is associated with the pollution control device and allows incoming air to pass through a replaceable filter and adjacent to an ultraviolet light setup that are located within each air filtration unit. The air being drawn into the system and subsequently filtered is drawn in by a rooftop device that draws air upward through the device and expels it through the top of the air flow chute.
