  • Patent number: 6772697
Abstract: The invention concerns an arrangement of service positions for maintenance apparatus, which can travel on a guide rail along a multiplicity of similar workstations on a first side of a textile machine, wherein a maintenance apparatus in a first service position at the elevation of a machine framing of the textile machine can be pivoted away from, or transversely withdrawn from the guide rail. Per side of the textile machine, at least two maintenance apparatuses are exclusively assigned thereto, whereby the guide rail on the first side, at least at one end of the textile machine, is elongated beyond the textile machine and a second service position is placed on the elongated guide rail. In this way, it becomes possible, with a large number of workstations to assure the shortest possible duration of a standstill, wherein in the case of a failure or preventive unkeep of one maintenance apparatus, another maintenance apparatus can serve a workstation in a short time.

  • Patent number: 6474461
Abstract: A maintenance carriage (2) of a textile machine (1) is comprised of a chassis (3) for travel along a plurality of like workstations (10) and a robot (4). The Robot is so placed on the chassis that it can be brought into an inspection position (I) from a service position (W) transverse to the travel direction of the chassis and subsequently returned too the service position. In its inspection position the robot creates a traversable passage (P) with a width which is at least 40 cm between the textile machine and itself. In its service position, the robot is secured in relation to the chassis with the aid of a locking mechanism. On each longitudinal machine side (A,B), the textile machine exhibits a separate running rail (14, 140) which possesses no connection with the running rail of the other longitudinal machine side and said running rail accommodates at least one maintenance carriage.

  • Patent number: 6272833
Abstract: On a textile machine, arL empty spool (12) is conveyed along a multiplicity of spool stations (1) situated next to one another. In a predetermined position relative to a grasping apparatus (3) the said empty spool (12) is stopped and is picked up by said grasping apparatus (3), and held by its circumferential surface. After its being lifted by the grasping apparatus (3), the spool (12) is retained in an axial alignment. This retention is discontinued, before the spool (12) is released at the spool station (1) where it is required. For the execution of this procedure, a retaining arrangement (8), composed of stopping devices (4 and 5), is provided for the spool (12) which is held by the grasping apparatus (3). The retaining arrangement (8) idles in a location outside of the transport path which the empty spool (12) will occupy when held.

  • Patent number: 5937629
Abstract: A method and device are provided for supplying empty tubes to winding devices of a textile machine comprising a plurality of operating units arranged next to each other in at least one line and equipped each with a winding device as a part of the operating unit, with a tube container provided at one end of the machine and coupled with a tube conveyer arranged along the line of the operating unites of the textile machine along which is also provided an attending unit adapted to travel along the line of the operating units and containing a handling device for moving a tube from the tube conveyer to a winding device. Prior to the attempt at rewinding, the handling device of the attending device lays into the winding device an empty winding tube. In case of an unsuccessful attempt at rewinding (at restoring the winding), the winding tube 22 is taken out of the winding device 1 by the attending device 4.

  • Patent number: 5511372
Abstract: A transport vehicle transports a plurality of sliver cans between a can delivery station, work stations of a sliver processing textile machine, and a discharge station for empty cans along a given travel direction. The vehicle includes an undercarriage with a plurality of can parking places for the sliver cans. A plurality of can exchange mechanisms are provided, one for each can parking place. Each exchange mechanism includes a carriage supporting a respective one of the sliver cans. The carriage is slidable on the under-carriage transversly to the travel direction of the transport vehicle. A motor slidingly drives each of the carriages on the undercarriage. A can manipulating device, which is operatively associated with each of the carriages, displaces the sliver cans, setting them down and receiving them on a respective one of the carriages.
