With Preparation For Doffing- Or Donning-type Operation Patents (Class 57/276)
  • Patent number: 4283908
Abstract: Method and device for preparing a ring spinning frame for automatic coil changing, which includes controlling a movable automatic servicing device for the spinning operation and a movable automatic servicing device for changing coils with a central automatic spinning control which controls the spinning processes of all spinning units of the machine so that both mentioned servicing devices are placed in readiness at the machine end of the ring spinning frame when the spinning process is completed.

  • Patent number: 4194349
Abstract: Apparatus and method for displaying information regarding the operating conditions of ring spinning machines in a textile mill wherein at least one traveling unit, supported for travel along a predetermined path for traversing one or more ring spinning machines, carries detectors for monitoring ends of strand material normally being formed by traversed machines and a data system responds to the detectors for determining the condition of the traversed machines from the condition of the monitored ends. In accordance with this invention, additional sensors are provided on each machine for signalling operating characteristics of the machines.

  • Patent number: 4180967
Abstract: An apparatus for twisting together a first and second yarn has a frame extending in a longitudinal direction and carrying a row of upright spindles each having and rotatable about an upright spindle axis. A holder is carried on the frame above each spindle and in turn carries a pair of yarn supplies one which may be the first yarn and one the second, or both the first. When the holder carries both first and second yarn supplies the spindle is operated as a takeup spool and is provided with a traveling-ring arrangement, with the two yarns being pulled off the respective supplies and twisted together. When the holder carries only two supplies of the first yarn the supply of the second yarn can be carried on the spindle, and a separate takeup spool can be provided above the spindle and below the holder. This takeup spool is driven to take up the two yarns and the first yarn is fed from the holder down and then up through the hollow spindle to be twisted with the second yarn that is simultaneously being spun.

  • Patent number: 4150534
Abstract: Method of exchanging sliver cans of a spinning machine having individual spinning stations, the sliver cans being disposed in staggered array adjacent and behind one another, by means of a can exchanging device able to travel on a given travel path along the spinning machine which includes placing the sliver cans in groups of at least three cans on turntables installed below the respective spinning stations of the spinning machine, conducting the can-exchanging device with at least one filled sliver can carried thereby in operating readiness past the groups of at least three cans at the respective spinning stations, stopping at a respective spinning station in response to a signal "sliver missing" from the spinning station and automatically carrying out the following operating steps:(a) turning the turntable into can-exchanging position if the turntable is not already in such position;(b) removing from the turntable the sliver can to be exchanged;(c) delivering the filled sliver can from the can exchanging de

  • Patent number: 4137701
Abstract: The doffing of full bobbins built on spools placed on the vertical spindles of fly-frames equipped with revolving flyers is performed by combining gripping means such as resilient clips carried by each flyer with retaining means such as an annular groove formed at the upper end of each spool. The releasable axial coupling thus provided is capable of temporarily supporting a spool and full bobbin in the top position while the spindle is moved downwards in order to remove the spool.
