  • Patent number: 5170617
Abstract: Packages, particularly cross-wound packages are produced directly at a ring spinning frame. In a method and apparatus for making packages a rewinding device is provided for a group of spinning stations. The rewinding device comprises a fixed winding station and a gripping device movable along the group of spinning stations. The rewinding device is able to perform all the manipulations for starting up a spinning process with empty yarn carriers. It is also possible to change the full yarn carriers and mount the empty yarn carriers on a spinning frame, remove thread breaks and carry out spinning following a batch change. Spinning of the individual yarn carriers takes place individually, so that when replacing one yarn carrier, the other spinning stations continue to operate. This leads to a high production rate of the ring spinning frame and simultaneously reduces costs for rewinding compared with known systems.

Abstract: A two-for-one yarn twisting spindle assembly having no balloon limitor utilizes a ring member for receiving a generally horizontal air flow and yarn emerging from the spindle assembly during pneumatic threading and deflects the air flow and yarn generally vertically upwardly therefrom along the outside of the spindle assembly, avoiding interference with adjacent spindle assemblies without the necessity of a conventional balloon limitor, for subsequent threading operations.

  • Patent number: 4453377
Abstract: A two-for-one twisting spindle has a compressed-air-actuating device which is disposed in the region of the hollow axle (21) of the spindle (1) above the spindle rotor, and which influences the run of the yarn and to which a compressed-air passage (29), extending through a stationary part (7) of the spindle, leads, in order to prevent the yarn from being drawn through the hollow axle of the spindle in the event of breakage of the yarn. The compressed-air-actuated device is a compressed-air-cylinder (27) whose axis intersects the hollow axle of the spindle at right angles thereto and whose outer wall has two openings (25) which are located diametrically opposite one another and which are in alignment with the hollow axle of the spindle, and a piston (26) which is displaceable within the compressed-air cylinder and whose rear end is subjectable to compressed air for the purpose of clamping (FIG. 1), or cutting (FIG. 5) through the yarn.

  • Patent number: 4391089
Abstract: An apparatus for aiding in piecing-up wrapped yarn on a yarn wrapping device which includes a hollow spindle upon which a bobbin of wrapping thread is carried. A pair of delivery rolls feeds a fiber bundle F through a fiber feed channel 8 provided in a pot carried on top of a housing which encloses the hollow spindle and bobbin. Holes 73 are provided in the downwardly extending projections of the pot so that in normal operation air flows through the housing and out of the holes 73. However, upon piecing-up of the yarn, the pot is depressed closing the holes 73 and 61 allowing the air flow to flow at its maximum through the feed channel out of a suction duct 9. This increased suction through suction duct 9 causes the fiber bundle F, the wrapping yarn B, and wrapped yarn G to be sucked thereinto for being pieced-up.

  • Patent number: 4391090
Abstract: The invention relates to a device for pneumatically threading a yarn in a double twist spindle. It is disposed inside a sleeve connecting two tubes adapted to constitute the central shaft of a double twist spindle. A yarn brake capsule passing through the flat rod of a piston is disposed inside the sleeve, its ends abutting against the opening of the bore of one tube and against that of the central hole of an end piece mounted at the end of the other tube. When compressed air is sent into the bore of the first tube, the piston is moved, causing a lateral shift of the yarn brake capsule, thus allowing passage of the yarn along the bore of the spindle. The invention is particularly applicable to double twist spindles.
