  • Patent number: 11686023
Abstract: A method for making an elasticised yarn includes feeding a roving made of a cotton-based natural fibre at a weight percentage of at least 50% and having a linear mass density between 0.1 Nm and 50 Nm, to a stretching unit, and extracting it from the stretching unit at a speed higher than the unwinding speed. The stretched roving and an elastic fibre are jointly pulled through an overlapping unit, forming a spool of the elasticised yarn. The elastic fibre includes a natural rubber containing more than 80% polyisoprene 1,4-cis. The elastic fibre also includes sulphur as a vulcanization agent; a vulcanization accelerator and a vulcanization activator; an anti-tacking agent; an antioxidant agent; and a stabilisation agent. The elastic fibre is obtained by longitudinally cutting a longitudinally cut flat yarn made of the natural rubber, to attain a linear mass density between 50 dtex and 1000 dtex.

  • Patent number: 6109014
Abstract: A method and a device for initiating the rewinding process after a yarn break in single stage pot spinning. In the process, a yarn detaching device (14) is introduced into a spinning centrifuge (3) rotating a high rpm, and places a cutting edge (16, 48) against the conically wound portion (32) of a spinning cake (15) deposited on the inner wall (26) of the spinning centrifuge (3). The yarn detaching device (14) has a yarn guide device, whose yarn guide contour (17, 43) covers the cutting edge (16, 48) of the yarn detaching device (14) such that in the course of the initiation of the rewinding process lower winding layers of the conically wound portion (32) are lifted on the rewinding tube (9) and in this way dependably prevents the winding of yarn around the yarn detaching device (14) during the rewinding process.

  • Patent number: 5704203
Abstract: A pot-spinning machine is equipped with a rewinding tube mounted on each yarn guide and with a central, common shogging drive of the yarn guides at one side of the machine. After a yarn break or similar interruption in spinning, in order to be able to initiate the rewinding operation immediately at the affected spinning station while simultaneously continuing the spinning process unchanged at the neighboring spinning stations, the shogging motion of the yarn guide is separated from the motion of the rewinding tube supported on the yarn guide, so that the rewinding tube is then moved only at the forward indexing speed of the yarn guide which is relatively slow compared with the shogging speed and which does not affect the rewinding of yarn onto the rewinding tube.

  • Patent number: 5699658
Abstract: A pot spinning machine holds a yarn rewinding tube in ready position during the spinning operation for immediate movement to an operative rewinding position in the event of a yarn break so that the broken end of yarn is not lost by winding onto the yarn cake already formed in the spinning pot and the yarn cake may then be properly rewound. The yarn break is detected with the aid of a yarn sensor which then emits a signal for immediately moving the rewinding tube into the rewinding position and clamping the yarn end. The rewinding operation can begin, even in the absence of a loose end of the yarn, if the yarn has assumed the form of a chord-like yarn segment extending substantially in the circumferential direction against the inner face of the yarn cake deposited onto the inside wall of the pot, which can be grasped and utilized to initiate the rewinding operation.

  • Patent number: 5613355
Abstract: A method for rewinding a spinning cake from a spinning pot of a pot spinning apparatus onto a rewinding body, preferably onto a tube as a yarn carrier, includes drawing a sliver to be spun in a drafting configuration, guiding the sliver in a pneumatic piecing aid, and depositing the sliver with a traversing yarn guide onto an inner wall surface of the rotating spinning pot as the spinning cake, while maintaining a requisite rotation for formation of a yarn. A yarn guide is moved toward the middle of the spinning cake in a last stroke being shorter than a next-to-last stroke of the yarn guide toward the middle of the spinning cake, once a predetermined size of the spinning cake is reached, before initiating rewinding of the spinning cake onto the rewinding body. A delivery of the sliver from the drafting configuration is stopped once a reversing point of the stroke is reached. The rewinding body is introduced into the spinning pot and the yarn is transferred onto the rewinding body.

  • Patent number: 4899529
Abstract: A method for winding a covered yarn in a covered yarn manufacturing machine. A non-elastic yarn is supplied from a wrapping yarn bobbin and is wrapped around a core yarn made of an elastic yarn to form a covered yarn. The covered yarn is traversed by a traverse guide along a winding bobbin and is wound around the winding bobbin. The traverse guide is displaced along the winding bobbin to a position outside a normal traversing region when the non-elastic yarn on the wrapping yarn bobbin has almost consumed. Thereafter, the covered yarn manufacturing machine is stopped. Then, the consumed wrapping yarn bobbin of non-elastic yarn at supply is replaced by a new wrapping yarn bobbin of non-elastic yarn. The covered yarn manufacturing machine is restarted. The above-described steps of the displacing, the stopping, the replacing and the restarting are repeated with regard to one winding bobbin.

A selected percentage of the required twist is inserted as the plied, cabled filaments are wound upon the takeup bobbin and the remainder of the required twist inserted as the filaments are unwound from the takeup bobbin and directed to a winder unit. Alternatively, the rate of twist applied to the plied filaments may be increased by driving the traveler ring, thus increasing the life or the speed of the traveler which directs plied filaments to the driven takeup bobbin. Occasionally, when two-for-one spindle units are applying extremely high twist, which slows down the delivery of twisted plied filaments, the driven downtwist takeup spindle unit may employ a super high speed stationary traveler ring.
