Drawing Rollers Patents (Class 57/97)
  • Patent number: 6679043
Abstract: A spinning machine includes a plurality of spinning stations or places. Each spinning place includes a yarn formation mechanism that is supplied with staple fiber material in the form of a longitudinal object. Each spinning place includes a refining mechanism by way of which the longitudinal object is refined prior to the fiber material being supplied to a yarn formation mechanism. Each refining mechanism is independently drivable and controllable with respect to the other refining mechanisms. At least one sensor is disposed at each of the spinning places to detect at least one measurable property correlated with fiber mass per unit of length. A controlling monitoring unit is configured to receive and process data measured by the sensor. A control monitoring unit is configured with the refining mechanism at the associated spinning place for control of the refining mechanism as a function of the property detected and measured by the sensor independent of the refining mechanisms at other spinning places.

  • Patent number: 6041585
Abstract: To prevent yarn from being cut when an operating spinning machine stops, thereby preventing subsequent re-activation from being affected. In a spinning machine for manufacturing yarn by passing a fiber bundle that exits a draft apparatus 1 through a spinning nozzle 2 injecting a swirling air current and then through a twisting apparatus 3 that twists the fiber bundle in a direction reverse to that of the swirling air current, each spinning unit is driven independently, and the draft apparatus 1 can be decelerated or accelerated with the speed ratio of each pair of rollers being maintained. When the spinning is stopped or activated, the draft apparatus 1 and the twisting apparatus 3 simultaneously decelerate or accelerate so as to be simultaneously stopped or activated, and in response to this operation, air injection from the spinning nozzle 2 stops or starts.

  • Patent number: 5535481
Abstract: In a textile machine with a drafting arrangement and textile spindles, the spindles are driven by an electric main drive. The drafting arrangement cylinders are coupled so that their speed is a given proportion of the speed of the main drive. The coupling is via a position-controlled brushless D.C. motor with electronic commutation for driving the drafting arrangement. An additional flywheel mass on the drafting arrangement drive is dimensioned so that the slowing-down time of the drafting arrangement is of the same order as the slowing-down time of the main drive, resulting in controlled slowing-down conditions if the voltage suddenly fails. The drafting arrangement motor can be made much smaller than hitherto. Also, the starting and slowing-down conditions can be accurately and sensitively controlled, thus reducing the risk of thread breakages.

  • Patent number: 5099640
Abstract: A spinning machine and method of control thereof wherein the spinning machine includes spindles for winding twistings or single yarns and including peripheral equipment for the spindles wherein the spindles and peripheral equipment are individually driven. A speed detector detects the rotation speed of at least one of the spindles and the peripheral machinery and a speed control arrangement is provided for controlling the speed of one of the spindles and the peripheral equipment in response to the detected speed so as to enable operation of the spindles and the peripheral machinery in a corresponding or synchronized manner. By the synchronized operation of the spindles and the peripheral machinery, yarns of excellent quality can be obtained.

  • Patent number: 5038553
Abstract: The delivery roller pair are made with continuous uninterrupted cylindrical surfaces so that air flows on the input side converge in the nip and then flow from the central zone thereof to opposite end zones. In addition, the air flows on the output side flow from the end zones towards the central zone. The suction nozzle is disposed downstream and in alignment with the nip so as to receive the fiber material for spinning into yarn.

  • Patent number: 4987734
Abstract: The ring spinning machine has separate drives for the spindles, the delivery rollers and the other rollers of the drafting device. The inverters of the corresponding drive motors are fed from a D.C. intermediate circuit so that all the drives stop simultaneously, thus obviating thread breakages. A disc brake is electrically coupled to the intermediate circuit to prevent rotation of the delivery roller of the drafting device.

  • Patent number: 4977737
Abstract: In the high speed driving of a ring spinning frame provided with a plurality of ring-spinning twisting-winding units, to compensate for the possible loss of thickness of yarn produced, when the drive speed of the spindles reaches more than a predetermined rotation speed, such as 16,000 rpm in the case of spinning a cotton yarn of 40's, a total draft ratio of each drafting part of the ring spinning frame is regulated to maintain the expected yarn count according to a predetermined compensation program.

Abstract: In a ring spinning or ring twisting machine the spindles of which each have an asynchronous motor as drive means, and the auxiliary apparatus thereof are driven by at least one electric motor having variable rotational speed, and the ratio of the rotational speeds of the electric motor driving the auxiliary apparatus and the asynchronous motors remains constant, a reluctance motor is used to drive the auxiliary apparatus. Two converters are used which are controlled in such a manner that the speed ratio remains constant.

  • Patent number: 4388801
Abstract: A process and apparatus for producing a twisted elastic thread in which an elastomeric thread of substantially 154 dtex to 310 dtex, is adhesively twisted with two yarns. The thickness of each of the two yarns is substantially of 100 to 12,500 dtex, and the yarns preferably are OE yarns of polyvinyl chloride, polyvinyl cyanide, polyacrylonitrile and/or wool threads, preferably produced by the rotor process. Prior to twisting, the yarns are surface-swelled under a vacuum between substantialy 0.1 and 0.2 bar in superheated steam at substantially 70.degree. C. for up to ten minutes for loosening purposes. During twisting, a pre-tension is imparted to the elastomeric thread with respect to the yarns. Such pre-tension is imparted to the elastomeric thread only a predetermined time after starting the twister, and the elastomeric thread is pre-tensioned by substantially 2 to substantially 5 times compared with the yarns.

  • Patent number: 4370850
Abstract: Tension is reduced in the unwound length of roving remaining between the drafting mechanism and the package after the frame has been brought to a halt. This can be done by additional feed from the drafting mechanism after stopping of the other elements of the frame. A tension adjusting means is coupled into the drive to the rollers of the drafting mechanism to advance the mechanism the desired amount. The degree of feed may be different depending upon whether the stoppage is due to a break at one of a group of flyers, or to a doffing operation.
