Abstract: The invention relates to a process for the production of an [18F]fluorohaloalkane which comprises treatment of a solid support-bound precursor of formula (I): SOLID SUPPORT-LINKER-SO2—O—(CH2)nX??(I) wherein n is an integer of from 1 to 7 and X is chloro, bromo or iodo; with 18F? to produce the [18F]fluorohaloalkane of formula (II) 18F—(CH2)n—X??(II) wherein n and X are as defined for the compound of formula (I), optionally followed by (i) removal of excess 18F?, for example by ion-exchange chromatography; and/or (ii) removal of organic solvent.

Abstract: Trichloroethylene is stabilized against oxidation by adding a nitrogen-containing compound selected from among .alpha.-(dimethylamino) propionitrile, thiazole, 1-aza-2-alkoxy-1-cycloalkene and 1,5-diazabicyclo[5.4.0]undec-5-ene. These may be used in combination with ethyl acetate, acetonitrile and pyrazine.
Abstract: Dibromostyrene has a marked tendency to polymerize on storage. The induction period can be lengthened with the use of a stabilizing quantity of n-propylgallate. The induction period can be markedly prolonged when the gallate ester is admixed with phenothiazine, N,N,N',N'-tetramethyl-p-phenylenediamine, or 4-tert-butyl catechol.
Abstract: Dibromostyrene is stabilized against unwanted polymerization by incorporating therein a stabilizing amount of phenothiazine or a substituted phenothiazine such as 3,3'-dioctylphenothiazine. The phenolthiazine can be admixed with a dihydroxy aromatic compound such as 4-methyl catechol.
