Delivering Fluid Or Material Through Wall Of Inflated Means Patents (Class 604/103.01)
  • Patent number: 6241719
Abstract: Disclosed are methods for the endovascular formation of a radioactive stent using a radioactive composition. These compositions are delivered to one or more vascular sites in a mammal as a fluid composition which solidifies in vivo to form a solid, coherent radioactive mass, preferably in the form or a stent. The solidified mass stents the vascular site thereby delivering the radioactivity attendant with the composition resulting in inhibition of restenosis.

  • Publication number: 20010001816
Abstract: A method and apparatus for selectively treating a targeted portion of internal body tissue of a patient by providing an internal electrode at a point adjacent the tissue to be treated and electrodes external to the patient's body. Fluid containing Ionic molecules is supplied to a location between the internal electrode and the external electrodes and an electric field radiating outwardly from the internal electrode to the external electrodes is created so that said fluid flows outwardly away from said internal electrode into the tissue to be treated.

  • Patent number: 6210365
Abstract: Apparatus and methods are provided for delivering oxygenated blood to a patient undergoing cardiac surgery using a perfusion catheter having a distal end carrying first and second sealing members. When the perfusion catheter is inserted through an arteriotomy site, the first and second sealing members are disposed to engage opposite surfaces of a thickness of a vessel to apply pressure against the opposite surfaces of the thickness to seal blood perfused into the vessel from leaking through the arteriotomy site. Apparatus for placing the perfusion catheter, and methods of using the apparatus also are provided.

  • Patent number: 6176842
Abstract: A kit and method for causing tissue death within a tissue site is disclosed. The kit includes a media with a light activated drug activatable upon exposure to a particular level of ultrasound energy. The kit also includes a catheter with a lumen coupled with a media delivery port through which the light activated drug can be locally delivered to the tissue site. The ultrasound transducer is configured to transmit the level of ultrasound energy which activates the light activated drug with sufficient power that the ultrasound energy can penetrate the tissue site.
