  • Patent number: 7334434
Abstract: A sliding-type faster for accessary chain has a hollow sphere having a pair of through holes, an elastic disk having a hole provided in the hollow sphere, and an accessary chain that slides into the through hole of the elastic disk. The outer diameter of the elastic disk for inserting the accessory chain is smaller than the inner diameter of the hollow sphere so that the outer surface of the elastic disk does not press tightly against the inner wall surface of the hollow sphere. Material such as polyurethane having high elasticity can be used for the elastic disk. The elastic disk can easily be installed in the hollow sphere by pressing or rolling it into a ball. Because of its increased thickness, the elastic disk will not slip out from the hollow sphere and achieve a long life.

  • Patent number: 7150164
Abstract: A tubular bladder has an outside wall connected to an inside surface of a finger passage through a band of a finger ring. An inside wall of the bladder is integral with the outside wall and forms a gas chamber. A passage connects the gas chamber to a source of air. Increasing air in the gas chamber reduces the diameter of the finger passage. Reducing the quantity of air in the gas chamber increases the diameter of the finger passage. A valve can be provided to meter air into and out of the bladder. If the bladder is resilient and tends to expand the area of the gas chamber, an air passage can let air into and out of the bladder.

  • Patent number: 7055342
Abstract: An article of jewelry, such as a bracelet, contains twelve or twenty-four primary links, each having a visual representation that identifies an hour of the day. Each link is provided with a reminder mechanism, preferably a group of stones. One of the stones is selected for viewing in association with the primary link for the hour of the day that an act or event is desirably remembered. The selected stone is color-coded to represent an activity to be remembered, such as a meeting, a child pick-up, or telephone call or the priority associated with the event, e.g., urgent, important, can be rescheduled, etc. Since the selected stone of the reminder mechanism is associated with a given hour of the day, by correlating the selected stone to the primary link of the hour of the day of the event or act to be remembered, the wearer is reminded of the hour of an event sought to be remembered.

  • Patent number: 6425268
Abstract: A body piercing jewelry substitute 10 includes a body 20 having an internal cavity 30. A rim 22 frames the opening 23 to the internal cavity. The rim is positioned on a damp body surface, such as moistened skin or the user's tongue. By creating an area 500 of reduced pressure around the body 20, air is removed from the internal cavity 30, lowering the pressure within the body 20. Where the body piercing jewelry substitute is applied to the tongue, the area of reduced pressure may be created by sucking orally. Where the body piercing jewelry substitute is located on the cheek for example, the reduced pressure may be created by use of a suction cup. When pressure is restored to normal levels around the body, the rim adheres to the damp body surface due to the partial vacuum within the internal cavity. The body piercing jewelry substitute may then moved to a different location by sliding it on the damp body surface.

Abstract: A method and machine for making personalized jewelry. A picture or drawing, preferably one with sentimental value, is scanned or digitally imported into a computer and saved as image data. The image data is manipulated by the computer's software and is used along with parameter information input by an operator to create numerical milling controls that are sent to a milling machine. The control instructions are executed by the milling machine and the result is that a replica of the scanned picture or drawing is milled into a piece of precious metal that is held by the machine. The piece of precious metal with the replicated image can be adapted to be worn as a pendant, a charm, earrings or as other types of jewelry. The method can be used to turn a whimsical piece of “refrigerator art” into a long lasting and treasured piece of “refrigerator art jewelry”, for example. The image is changed from two-dimensional to three-dimensional by adding contour to the original image using appropriate graphics software. The contour is scaled for the production of first and second slightly different sizes. Both sized images are converted to a computer numeric control dataset for controlling a milling machine, which cuts the first contour into the underside of a cabochon of stone or crystal and the second contour into a die stamp tool. An insert is die-stamped into metal, said insert having a convex surface that matches the contour of the first contour milled into the cabochon.
