Dead Bolt Patents (Class 70/11)
  • Patent number: 9176926
Abstract: A method monitoring an aircraft engine, including: collecting time history measurements on a first set of measurements on endogenic variables and a second set of measurements on exogenic variables; standardizing measurements related to the endogenic variables considering the exogenic variables to form an entry point corresponding to a condition of a current engine in a multi-dimensional space, for each acquisition; projecting each multi-dimensional space entry point onto an image point on a previously constructed map, forming a sequence of image points on the map reflecting a distribution of the multi-dimensional space entry points, the image points forming a current trajectory representing a change to conditions of the current engine; comparing an end of the current trajectory with previously recorded portions of aircraft engine trajectories kept in a database; and analyzing statistical variations of the trajectories to anticipate maintenance operations on the current engine.

  • Patent number: 8912879
Abstract: A security system may include a plurality of electronic devices, each having a unique identification (ID) associated therewith and configured to generate a temporary security code based upon the unique ID. The system may further include at least one mobile wireless communications device including a first Near-Field Communication (NFC) circuit, and a mobile controller configured to receive the temporary security code from a given electronic device from among the plurality of electronic devices. The system may also include an access control device associated with a personnel access position and including a second NFC sensor and a security controller. The security controller may be configured to receive the temporary security code from the first NFC sensor via NFC communications, selectively grant personnel access based upon the received temporary security code, and determine the unique ID associated with the given electronic device.

  • Patent number: 8347658
Abstract: A method of passive surveying comprises generating one or more detected signals by passively detecting a signal generated within a subsurface earth formation due to a seismoelectric response or an electroseismic response in at least one porous subsurface earth formation containing at least one fluid, and processing the one or more detected signals to determine at least one property of the subsurface earth formation.

  • Patent number: 8167621
Abstract: A training device is described for perfecting the art of forcibly opening a door in an emergency. The training device has a frame and a door placed in the frame. A dead bolt is mounted in the door and protrudes from the door in a locked position relative to the frame. A vise is attached to the frame. The vise has a movable jaw mounted on a block and a stationary jaw, and means for tightening the movable jaw against the dead bolt. The dead bolt protrudes from the door between the stationary and movable jaw. A method of using the training device causes the door to pivot and the dead bolt to move off of the vise, thus simulating an actual forced opening.

  • Patent number: 7412855
Abstract: A pivotal bar-lock comprising an anchor hasp having a locking hub and a first locking element integrally formed with a first mounting plate; a locking hasp integrally formed with a second mounting plate and having a mating element and a second locking element formed therein; and a locking bar rotatably mounted on the anchor hasp, the locking bar having a cylinder lock encased therein and an engagement element formed therewith, the cylinder lock being operable such that when rotated into an unlocked mode, the locking bar is pivotally enabled to assume one of open, in-transit, and closed positions in interaction with the first and second locking elements, and when the cylinder lock is rotated into a locked mode, the engagement element of the locking bar engages the mating element of the locking hasp.

  • Patent number: 6393878
Abstract: A mortise lock is provided including a housing for a latch bolt and a deadbolt which are mounted in the housing for movement between a retracted position where the latch bolt and deadbolt are inside the housing and an extended position where a portion of the latch bolt and deadbolt extend from the housing. A key-operated cylinder in the housing operates to move the deadbolt between the retracted and extended positions. A latch operator is also provided for retracting both the latch bolt and the deadbolt. A moveable blocking element in the housing prevents movement of the latch operator in one position of the blocking element. A locking lever operatively connects the deadbolt and the blocking element so that when the deadbolt is extended the blocking element is automatically moved to the position blocking the latch operator. The locking lever comprises an arm member integral with the locking lever.

  • Patent number: 6334344
Abstract: A process for real-time reconfiguring of trajectories or airborne vehicles in order to adapt a mission to suit a new situation that has arisen through the occurrence of a disrupting event. The process updates real-time context data modified by the occurrence of the disrupting event and analyzes the new real-time context thus obtained in order to select a predefined reconfiguration method chosen from a set of different predefined methods stored in memory, each of these methods directly translating operational strategies customarily employed by aircrew in a given real-time context so as to determine a new trajectory which best suits the current real-time context.

  • Patent number: 6223566
Abstract: A universal gun lock for insertion into barrel of a gun. The gun lock has a shaft assembly which is inserted into the muzzle end of a bore of the barrel. The lock assembly is held on the external end and the internal end extends into the chamber. An expandable locking cup is expanded by retracting an inner shaft. The locking cup moves outwardly far enough so that it abuts the shoulder of the chamber and cannot be pulled out. A center shaft is extended causing the locking cup to ride down a ramp and contract so that it may be pulled out of the barrel. Preferably, the lock assembly and an inner and outer shaft are provided with a selection of locking ramps and expandable locking cups so that a gun dealer needs only have one lock and shaft assembly with various locking ramps and expandable cups for different sizes of guns. The present invention also includes the process of using the universal lock.
