  • Patent number: 5715711
Abstract: The portable wheel immobilizing device is comprised of two parallel covers which are attached together to angularly rotate in opposite directions about an axis perpendicular to both covers. A pair of parallel arms is attached to each cover. The arm pairs intersect at the aforesaid axis and each arm pair rotates with its cover around the aforesaid axis between a position in which all the arms are parallel to each other to a position in which the arm pairs are angularly disposed to be substantially perpendicular to each other but in which the arms in a pair remain parallel. The arms in a pair are movable in opposite directions between a length in which their combined span is at a minimum to allow compact storage of the device to a length in which their combined span is at a maximum to allow the arms to engage the outside periphery of the wheel to allow the arms to surround the wheel.

  • Patent number: 5482136
Abstract: A vehicle anti-theft device has a support to be arranged in an interior of a vehicle in the vicinity of a gas pedal, and a locking part arranged on the support and having a locking body provided with an opening and a locking element movable relative to the locking body between a locked position in which it reduces a size of the opening and an unlocked position in which it releases the opening, so that in the unlocked position the device can be moved over a gas pedal of the vehicle and a holding arm of of the gas pedal, while in the locked position with reduced size of the opening the device cannot be removed from the holding of the gas pedal since the size of the opening in the locked position is smaller than the size of the gas pedal, and therefore the gas pedal cannot be activated to drive a vehicle.

  • Patent number: 5479794
Abstract: A wheel lock device including a shoe. The shoe has sides, a top with a central aperture wherethrough a wheel strut may extend. The shoe has a generally planar bottom with an anti-slide portion that precludes the wheel lock device from sliding along the supporting surface. The shoe has dimensions such that a strut-mounted wheel assembly of a vehicle may be enclosed therein. The shoe is separated vertically into two equal hingedly connected parts which allow it to be opened for receiving the wheel assembly, or closed for encasing the wheel assembly, whereby precluding free rotation along the supporting surface. Included is a lock that allows the two parts of the shoe to be releasably secured in the closed position. Locking the two parts prevents removal of the shoe from the wheel assembly. Removably connected to the lock is a key. The key is rotated in the lock by a user for release of the lock to permit the shoe to be opened for removal from the wheel assembly.

  • Patent number: 5453671
Abstract: The invention relates to an electromotive actuator with a housing for a central door locking system of a motor vehicle having a first slide adjustable by a first electric motor between two end positions. The first slide can be connected with a door lock of the motor vehicle independently of the end position and is preferably decoupled from the electric motor in the end positions, so that the first slide is manually adjustable between its end positions. Such an electromotive actuator is provided with a theft protection capability in the sense that, after a windshield of a motor vehicle is smashed in, an unlocking of the door by the inside locking handle is no more possible because the parts of the actuator are not actuated by operating the inside locking handle. Finally, an unlocking operation initiated from the outside is possible when the theft protection is put into operation.

  • Patent number: 5426961
Abstract: Anti-theft security device for trailers of trucks is provided with a security lock integrated to a mechanism actuating the props of trailers. The anti-security device acts either mechanically on the lifting-lowering motion transmission mechanism while preventing the gears from meshing or by clocking the bevel gear by means of a metal part fitting between two teeth, or by impeding the rotation of the rotary drive bar connecting the two props. The device can also act electrically by cutting the supply of an electric motor supplied by the tractor battery and actuating the props. The mechanical and electrical locks can be combined. The device is particularly applicable to the field of road trucks of large loading capacity which are comprised of a tractor part and a trailer part articulated to each other and which may be detached, and is intended to prevent the theft of the trailer when it is not running and uncoupled.
