  • Patent number: 7870768
Abstract: The present invention suppresses rattle and assembly inaccuracies of a magnet and magnet detection sensor, and detects with certainty the position of a lock bolt. The power steering lock unit includes a lock bolt, which is movable between lock and unlock positions, an actuator for causing the lock bolt to move; a transmission mechanism for transmitting the drive force of the actuator to the lock bolt; and position detection sensor for detecting the movement position of the lock bolt. The position detection sensor includes a movable member to which a magnet is fixed, a base plate on which a magnetic detection sensor for detecting the magnetic force of the magnet is disposed, and a holder for movably holding the movable member at a prescribed spacing from the base plate. A linking mechanism is provided for operating the movable member in response to operation of the lock bolt or the transmission mechanism.

  • Patent number: 7866697
Abstract: The invention relates to a releasable holding mechanism which may be used to hold and release a roll bar in a roll over protection system. The roll bar is often made part of the seat structure of vehicle, or a part of the chassis of the vehicle. The releasable holding mechanism will be fastened rigidly or slightly loose to the roll bar frame, seat frame or the chassis of the vehicle. Between the roll bar and the releasable holding mechanism there will be a connection element that is rigidly or slightly loosely fastened to the roll bar. The arrangement of fastening the connection element rigidly or slightly loosely depends on the tolerances for positioning the actuator towards the roll bar. The connection element is locked or released by the releasable holding mechanism. The releasable holding mechanism is locked/-engaged when the roll bar is pushed downwards whereby the connection element is forced into the releasable holding mechanism.

When an authentic key is inserted into the keyway in a locking device, only a plunger member starts to move from a standby position toward an operative position. When the plunger member is pushed to the operative position, an operating lever located in the locked position swings to the unlocked position. The operating lever unlocks a locking mechanism that is in a locked state. When an inauthentic key is inserted in the keyway, the plunger member and sleeve member move together to the operative position. The operating lever in the locked position does not swing. Thus, the operating lever maintains the body portion of the locking mechanism locked.

Abstract: A theft deterrent device includes first and second jaws pivotally connected to one another and pivotally movable between open and closed positions. The jaws form in the closed position an interior chamber and a through passage for receiving therethrough a portion of an article of merchandise. A lock slide is slidable within the interior chamber between locked and unlocked positions and lockable by a lock in the locked position to secure the first and second jaws together in the closed position. The lock slide includes lock hooks which lockably engage lock hooks of the second jaw. The lock slide includes locking and unlocking ledges which a resilient, magnetically attractable lock finger of the lock respectively engages in the locked and unlocked positions. An externally accessible thumb grip operatively engages the lock slide to move it between the locked and unlocked positions. An EAS tag is disposed within the device.

Abstract: A lockable storage case includes a top cover pivotably coupled to a bottom cover through a spine. The top cover includes loops or an upper lock receiving member and a lower lock receiving member defining a top cover lock insertion path. The bottom cover includes loops or an upper lock receiving member and a lower lock receiving member defining a bottom cover lock insertion path. The lower lock receiving members of both the top and bottom covers include hooks for receiving and maintaining a latch. When the top cover is closed on the bottom cover, the top and bottom cover insertion paths combine to form a combined lock insertion path. A lock for the storage case includes first and second catch mechanisms with first and second catches. To lock the storage case, the lock is inserted into the combined lock insertion path so that the catches on the lock mate with and are retained with the hooks in the top and bottom covers.

  • Patent number: 7151324
Abstract: The invention relates to an electric steering lock wherein a permanent magnet (20) and two different Hall sensors (21,22) are used to recognise a locking and an unlocking position. The pole transition (23) of the magnet (20) is oriented in the direction of the lift (14). In order to increase efficiency, one sensor (21) is south-pole active and the other (22) is north-pole active. The sensors (21,22) are arranged in an intermediate area (25) between both end positions (10.1, 10.2) of the pole transition (23) of the permanent magnet (20) and are disposed at a defined end distance (38, 39) from both end positions (10.1, 10.2). At said end distance (10.1), the N-active sensor (21) is oriented towards the north pole and the S-active sensor (22) is oriented towards the south pole of the permanent magnet. Said end distance (38, 39) corresponds to the distance at which the magnetic flow density (30.1) of the permanent magnet (20) is at least identical to the threshold value (21.1) required to turn on (28.1, 29.

Abstract: An exit sensor bar for securing a door has an elongated housing and a mounting pad for mounting to a door. The electro-optical detector selectively energizing and de-energizing the lock in response to the detection of light emitted from the electro-optical source. When a push force is applied to the elongated housing, the housing is displaced toward the mounting pad such that the blade obstructs light emitted from the electro-optical source. In response to the non-detection of the emitted light, the electro-optical detector de-energizes the lock freeing the door for egress.
