Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure include a bone plate and/or a bone plate system. The bone plate includes an elongate body, which elongate body includes a top and a bottom surface as well as a distal portion, a proximal portion, and an intercalating portion disposed between the distal and proximal portions. The elongate body also includes a flange member, which flange member is configured for contacting a bone portion, e.g., a fractured bone portion, so as to aid in the stabilization and correct anatomical reduction thereof.

Abstract: Various enhancements are provided to a pushbutton lock to enhance its security. One is the provision of button tips that are mounted on the ends of the button assemblies and spring-loaded to protrude from the face of the lock, regardless of whether the underlying button is “in” or “out.” By this arrangement, a bystander cannot readily see the button combination by the pattern of depressed buttons. This arrangement also reduces tactile feedback between the underlying button assembly and the externally available button tips, increasing resistance to pick attacks. A further enhancement is the provision of button bars between adjacent pairs of button tips. Whenever any of the button tips is manually depressed, the corresponding button bar is pressed into engagement with, and prevents movement of, a member that must be moved in order to unlock the lock.

Abstract: A combination lock has a locking bolt movable in bolt-opening and bolt-closing directions by a bolt-operating knob; a plurality of displaceable locking bars each having a predetermined position dependent upon a set combination; an arrangement for preventing the locking bolt from movement from a fully-closed position unless each locking bar is in its predetermined position; a plurality of displaceable code bars connected to the locking bars; a plurality of displaceable digit slides each having an externally accessible, manually engageable portion, a plurality of digit markings and a lug operatively engaging into the associated code bar; a movable carrier plate traversed by the lugs of the digit slides, whereby the locking bars, the code bars and the digit slides are displaced by the carrier plate during a motion thereof in a direction opposite the direction of movement of the locking bolt during opening.
