Spindle Operator Patents (Class 70/309)
  • Patent number: 8555686
Abstract: A lock includes a housing, a keypad disposed on the housing, and a latch assembled with the housing. The keypad includes a plurality of button assemblies, each including an axially depressible button member including a camming surface, a lock wheel having a plurality of camming teeth, and a latch releasing feature secured to the lock wheel for rotation therewith. Pressing the button member causes the camming surface to engage one of the plurality of calming teeth, thereby incrementally rotating the lock wheel between a plurality of rotational positions. When the button members of a predetermined one or more of the plurality of button assemblies are depressed a predetermined number of times, the latch releasing features of each of the plurality of button assemblies align with a plurality of blocking features of the latch to permit lateral sliding movement of the latch from a locked condition to an unlocked condition.

  • Patent number: 8136377
Abstract: A card lock structure for selectively locking or releasing a lock barrel includes a card lock casing and a card barrel limiting mechanism. The card lock casing has a card-inserting groove. The card barrel limiting mechanism has a lock barrel limiting push rod pivotally disposed in the card lock casing, an elastic element disposed between the card lock casing and the lock barrel limiting push rod, and a movable pressing unit for pressing the lock barrel limiting push rod. One end of the lock barrel limiting push rod projects outside the card lock casing in order to selectively lock or release the lock barrel. When a card passes through the card-inserting groove to push the movable pressing unit to release the lock barrel limiting push rod, the lock barrel limited push is moved by the elasticity of the elastic element in order to release the lock barrel.

  • Patent number: 5575164
Abstract: A combination lock includes a dial shaft adapted to be rotated with a user's hand, a fore lock plate, at least one intermediate lock plate and a rear lock plate arranged in parallel with each other, and a driving plate integrally fitted to a rear end of the dial shaft. A plurality of unlocking cutouts are formed in the outer peripheries of the driving plate and all the lock plates so as to allow a lock pawl to be received in the unlocking cutouts when the latter are located in alignment with each other. A driving gear having a large diameter is formed in the driving plate, and a follower gear having a small diameter is formed on the fore lock plate. Both the gears mesh with each other at a gear ratio via an idler gear so as to allow the gears to be rotated in the opposite directions. The gear ratio is determined such that all the lock plates are followably rotated as a dial knob is turned with a user's hand.

  • Patent number: 5267460
Abstract: A combination lock for a key safe has an over-center spring for biasing a unitary bolt in an extended or retracted position. A switch for actuating the bolt has a break-away button to foil vandals. The bolt includes checkers for engaging notches in a plurality of programmable combination rings when the combination is properly dialed. The checkers have V-shaped ridges for engaging false notches formed in the combination rings, making the lock pick-resistant. The checkers also include flat shoulders to prevent the bolt from being forcibly wedged into the combination rings to open the lock. The combination must be properly dialed to permit the bolt to be retracted for closing the key safe.

  • Patent number: 5007262
Abstract: A dial lock comprises: a slide bar (10) which is controlled of its movement by engagement with a lock pin (2), dials (3) for controlling movement of the lock pin (2) with respective optional retrieving number, return-to-zero gears (6) to return the dials (3) to these zero-indicating positions at the time of locking and unlocking, and anti-locking means for enabling the locking only after a case when at least one of the dials is set to indicate a number other than zero, whereby optional unlocking number can be set without fail in locking operation.

  • Patent number: 4063436
Abstract: A combination lock with a combination dial having a shaft extending through an elliptically shaped door aperture, through a wheel post, and through an elliptically shaped aperture in a lock stand to mount a cam and a plurality of locking wheels each having a slot which when properly positioned permits sliding movement of the dial, post wheels and a locking bolt mounted on the post to a release position in response to manually applied lateral force as the aligned slots move into an upstanding fence on the stand. A spring connected to the stand extends about the post to urge the post in the opposite direction toward a latch position.

  • Patent number: 3967477
Abstract: A combination lock is disclosed that has a plurality of separately dialed tumblers mounted for rotation around spaced parallel axes. The tumblers extend through openings in a plate and each carries a fence that cannot pass through the opening. Each opening has a lateral gate slot to receive the fence of the tumbler in the opening. The plate must move over the fences to open the lock which it cannot do until the tumblers are positioned so the fences are positioned in alignment with the gate slots. Provision is made for changing the combination when desired and for opening the lock with a master combination when the current combination is forgotten. Also, in one embodiment, the lock can be opened with a spare combination in addition to the master when the current combination is forgotten or lost.
