  • Patent number: 9540847
Abstract: The magnetic anti-tampering system of the magnetically enhanced key and lock system provides a mechanical and magnetic security system. It utilizes a modified paracentric key and a locking assembly affixed to a component inside of a paracentric lock. The magnetically enhanced key and lock system increases the security of a pair centric lock by defeating the unauthorized operation of pair centric locks by unauthorized users, such as inmates, who have fabricated copies of the authentic, paracentric keys. Paracentric locks and keys are the most common type of locks used in jails, state prisons, and detention facilities. The locking system requires that both the teeth of the key and the magnetic pairs of the key and locking dog combine to open the lock.

Abstract: The present invention relates to an electronic lock having first and second disposed in axial alignment is provided. A first key inserted into the cylinders of the electronic lock sends an electronic signal to a solenoid which retracts a stopper from engagement with a latch plate upon turning the first key through an initial angle. Thereafter, the first key drives the first cylinder to drive a first cam which moves against a first cam follower to move the latch plate and withdraw the latch from locking engagement. In the event of an electronics failure and/or in order to manually override the electronics, a second key is inserted into the axially aligned cylinders. The second key initially drives the second cylinder to move a second cam against a second cam follower that bears against the stopper to remove the stopper from engagement with the latch plate.

Abstract: To prevent the unauthorized unlocking of van doors equipped with safety rod locks, the lever of the safety rod lock is held to the door by a retainer clip. The retainer clip has an extending tongue with apertures in it that passes through the door into the van. In the van, there is a dead bolt which may be actuated by a key cylinder inserted from outside the van through the door to cause the dead bolt to enter an aperture and lock the extending tongue of the retainer and hold the retainer in place so that the lever cannot be moved to unlock the safety rod lock. A second key actuated member or solenoid actuated member is actuated to move a cam in front of the first key slot so that it cannot be unlocked until the second cam lever is moved out of the way.
